SCA3C12 card using the FTL Sketch 27

Sara has been providing these PTI Color challenges that are fun to create with. I figured why not use it with a sketch. I have been wanting to do this FTL Sketch 27 for a while now and I think it came out very well with this color combination.

Click here to see Sara's color challenge.

I had loved this lattice border punch from Martha Stewart, but it is quite delicate and is easy to mess up if you are not careful. As you can see I messed up one end of it pretty badly. But I did not have time to redo that part, so here is the card as is. Maybe I can cover it up with some ribbon or something later :) I love how forgiving this paper crafting is.

Supplies:
Stamp Set - PTI Birds of a feather, PTI Square Borders and Corners
Paper - PTI Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet and Dark Chocolate
Ink - PTI Berry Sorbet and Burnt Umber
Other - Martha Stewart Lattice Border Punch, SU 1 3/8" Square Punch

OCC Sketch Challenge

This week's OCC Sketch challenge is all about circles. I really loved this sketch and used my new Stampin Up set Darling dots set to create this card.

When I re look at this card now, I feel like my circles are not exactly in the center. Does not look odd or anything except I cannot see the Paper piercing on the left bottom corner of the red card stock.

Here is the Sketch,

Supplies:
Stamp Set - SU Darling Dots (Hostess Level 1 set), Sentiment from PTI Simple Things (Anniversary Set)
Ink - PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Burnt Umber
Paper - SU Green CS(I do not know exactly which green this is), Making Memories DP, Generic Red and White CS
Others - Circle Punches, SU Piercing template and Mat, SU Word Window Punch, Making Memories button style brads, PTI Spring Moss Ribbon

Mojo Monday Week 74

Yay!! I have the Mojo Monday 74 sketch card ready this time by Wednesday. I always end up waiting till weekend to work on my cards and pages.

This sketch was really nice to work with and I used my favourite PTI Set - Mailbox greetings to get this sketch going. I wanted to make something sunny and spring even though spring is not here yet officially. Something to cheer us up. So, I used yellow copics on the mailboxes. It was really fun doing this card.

As I was getting ready to post this I realized that I did not have the details on what copics I used, anyways another lesson learnt and will try to have those details next time. I mean what is the use of having a blog if I cannot provide all the details and maybe some step by step information too. :)

Also I wanted to get the effect of having some mail in the mailbox so I stamped the small letter image from the set in Summer Sunrise in the mailboxes, but it hardly shows up. In the last mailbox it looks like I scratched the mailbox instead of having a letter in it. :) But I liked this idea and will try it with a different ink next time.

Here is the Mojo Monday 74 Sketch,

Supplies:
Stamp Set - PTI Mailbox Greetings
Ink - PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Burnt Umber, PTI Landscape
Paper - PTI White, Summer Sunrise, PTI Dark Chocolate, Generic PP
Other - Stickles, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Copics, PTI Summer Sunrise Ribbon.

52 Weeks 52 Sketches - Sketch 6!!

I signed up for this 52 sketches in 52 weeks challenge inspired by my SCS Friends Sara, Jen and Chris. I thought this would give me a motivation to get some of my scrapbook pages done. Cards give a instant gratification of having created something and so I have fallen behind on my scrapbook layouts.

You can see the 52 sketches 52 weeks logo on the right hand side of my page if you are interested in signing up.

Sketch 6 or week 6 was a great sketch to use some of the photos from my parent's trip to US during 2007. Here is a layout I did of our Trip to Hartford, Connecticut. This was the visit to Capitol Building.

Supplies: Basic Grey Paper as base, Generic PP, PTI White and Ocean tides CS, Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Cloud 9 stickers

Color Inspired PTI Sketch CMWC1

I want to go back and do all the old PTI Sketches, but time is always the factor. To find time enough to create all the projects. Anyways, as usual I was trying to create card using this Pottery Barn catalog and this particular PTI Sketch CMWC1 was perfect for it. I used PTI's pond life set. I also used the cuttlebug embossing folder to create the effect of pillow in the catalog. It is not quite the same, but pretty close.

Supplies: PTI Pond Life Set, PTI Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, Shimmer White CS, 1" Square Punch, Oval Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Ribon Tag Die cut, PTI Summer Sunrise Twill Ribbon

Here is the Pottery Barn catalog that inspired this card,

Here is the PTI Sketch that I used,

TECC54 and OCC Combined

I was looking at OCCC challenge this time and it was to create your card around your inspiration and I just love the cuttlebug embossing folders so made that the focal point for my card. I was thinking on how to use my the embossed sections when I saw Taylored Expressions Sketch 54 and these two were a perfect fit.

Here is the baby shower card that I did for my friend - we are throwing a surprise baby shower for her on Valentine's day. I am almost done with the center piece for her shower. Will share that and Favours I did either late today or tomorrow.

Supplies: PTI White CS, PTI Dark chocolate CS, Generic Pink CS, Generic Stamp Set, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch.

I (heart) FTL 26

I have been busy finishing up some favors for my friends baby shower (More on that coming later), so have not had a chance to work on lot of my pending projects. So, when I finally got a chance to work on the Clean and Simple Sketch - FTL 26 (you can see the link to Clean and Simple Sketches on the right hand side of my blog), I was really excited. This sketch has so many possibilities, this will probably become one of my go to sketches.

Supplies: PTI Kraft Cardstock, Generic Brown and Pink CS, Target Dollar Spot PP (The hearts are punched out of this PP, Valentine day sentiment stamp is from Michaels dollar spot, American craft Glitter Pen, Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

Here is the FTL Sketch that inspired me,

Mojo Monday 73 Sketch

I had a goal to design and complete my Feb Christmas Cards Challenge 09 by this weekend. When I saw the Mojo Monday Sketch 73 (You can find link to their blog on the right hand side of my page), it was perfect for this new Snoopy stamp I had recently acquired.

Supplies: Stampendous Snoopy/Peanut Christmas Stamp, PTI White and Vintage Cream CS, Generic Polka Dot PP, Generic Ribbon, SU Slot Punch, Generic Brad and Sentiment.

After I finished this card, even though I was pleased with the overall effect, there were some things that I did not like, I think this particular image was slightly big for the sketch, it kind of overwhelms the whole card and plus the slot punch was not the ideal one to use in this case. Oh well, lessons learnt for my next card. Also, I had forgotten to use the corner punch on the sentiment section and it was hard to do it after I glued it on lol. So, it is kind of crooked as well. Not one of my best creations, but it was still fun to do this card.

Here is the Mojo Monday 73 Sketch,

Friends Till End Challenge using CPS102

I wanted to do this card for a friend of mine with whom I have not talked in ages and at the same time I saw Nichole Heady's Challenge.

It was perfect for my card. I also used the CPS102 sketch for this card from the CPS Blog

I used this big polka dots paper that I got from Hobby Lobby and you guess it right- this paper also features Raspberry fizz.

Supplies: PTI Heart Prints, PTI Heart Prints Sentiments, Generic DP, Nestabilities, PTI Raspberry Fizz Cardstock, SU Scallop Punch, American Craft Glitter marker.

Here is the CPS Sketch,

Raspberry Fizz

I was going through another one of my catalogs and the front page caught my eye and reminded me a lot of PTI's Raspberry Fizz and I had to create this card. One of my friends birthday is coming up and she loves the pink and black combination, so I thought this card will be perfect for her.

Supplies: PTI White, Raspberry Fizz, Shimmery Blue CS, PTI Raspberry Ink and Memento Black Ink, PTI Flower Garden stamp set, SU Scallop Punch.

Here is the front cover of the Kohls catalog that was my inspiration.

Happy stamping,

Mojo Monday Sketch 72

There is so much to be created and so less time :) I was really inspired by the latest Mojo Monday sketch, although I am way beyond Monday, but the whole point is to get inspired by it. You can see the Mojo Monday 72 Sketch here

Here is my card for this challenge. I have still not gotten over how beautiful PTI's Raspberry Fizz is. So, had to use it with their new black card stock.

Sketch,

Supplies: PTI White, Raspberry Fizz, True Black CS, PTI Raspberry Fizz and Snow white Ink, PTI Around and About sentiments, Circle Punch, Misc Flourish Stamp

DISCLAIMER: I apologize in advance for the bad photography. That is a result of my laziness (i.e. not using tripod) and my eagerness to take pictures in the evening as soon as I am done with it and not waiting till daylight.

Bag the Challenge

Nichole Heady from PTI has been having various give aways to celebrate PTI's 2nd anniversary. You can see her blog here
Day 5 challenge was to alter a bag, any bag. Of course Nichole has done amazing work with her Tote using Garden Life set, but I am have no expertise in sewing. So taking inspiration from Chris and Amy (Whose blog links are on the right hand side), I altered this gift bag to give my husband his Valentine's day gift. This is the first time I am altering a gift bag and it was really fun and I think the final product looks much better than any store bought Valentine day gift bag.

Here is my bag creation,

Close up of the Heart prints center part,

Supplies: PTI Black and White Basics DP, PTI White Shimmer and Raspberry Fizz Card stock, PTI Heart Prints Set, Nestabilities, PTI Circle Borders and Corners, Raspberry Fizz Ribbon, Generic Twine, PTI Raspberry Fizz and Pure Snow Ink.

DISCLAIMER: I apologize in advance for the bad photography. That is a result of my laziness (i.e. not using tripod) and my eagerness to take pictures in the evening as soon as I am done with it and not waiting till daylight.

Also I was running out of sticky tape, so tried some regular glue for the side panels on this bag and that did not work out too well. :(

Combined Challenges

I really liked that latest sketch Challenge that Taylor has on her blog (Click here to see TECC53 sketch). I was trying to come up with a good design for this layout when I saw the OCCC challenge - which was to make a card with two or more hearts (See OCCC Challenge here). So, I figured these two would work great combined and here is my take on these,

I love green and even though it is not a traditional Valentine's day color, I had to use that in my card. :) Sorry for the bad picture, I had completed this project in the evening and could not wait until day time to take the picture. Hence the awkward lighting and shadows. Thanks for looking.

Supplies: PTI Heart Prints, PTI Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet and White Shimmer CS, Large Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Martha Stewart DP, Nestabilities.

I needed to send out some belated wedding cards to my two of my cousins. So, I used PTI's Wedding day set to come up with these two cards.

I CASE'ed my first card from Taylor's design as shown here

Supplies: PTI Wedding Day, PTI Pink patterns PP, PTI White CS, PTI Heart Prints.

Sara's Sketch Challenge - SCA04

I have not had a chance to do any crafting the past few days. The best way to jump back into the fray for me at least is to start doing the sketches. So, I started off with Sara's Sketch SCA03 (Click Here for her post)

Sara's Sketch

I used some scraps from PTI Patterned Paper - Pink Patterns, and one from some unknown brand - the one that says Happy birthday. Sara's sketch kind of indicates 5 pieces, but since mine were slightly larger, I could only fit four. But I am hoping it is okay.
