Happy Birthday - PTI Swap Card

I am participating in the PTI Swap hosted by Steffie on SCS and I wanted to share the card that I did for the Birthday card category.

I used the new PTI Pretty Peonies Anniversary set for my card. I was inspired by Nichole Heady's card that she did for the set reveal. I did not get the background set she had used, so instead used the Script Patterned Paper. You can see her card here.

I am for sure loving the new PTI Inks. I used Simply Chartreuse ink for the label. I used Ranger DI Tumbled Glass and stamped the outline Peony image for the center panel. I cut out the copic colored flower and the panel and popped them up on foam dots to give the card a bit of dimension.

Thanks for stopping by,

Layout with some older pictures

Today is the first day of GS107 class that I am taking. You can see the details of the class here if you are interesting in joining as well. I love Valerie's sketches.

There are some challenges going on over Bella Blvd Blog as well and one of them was to use cute cuts. I do not own any Bella Blvd products and hence no cute cuts, but I found some really nice chipboard die cuts in my vacation stash and so I am hoping these will work instead of the cute cuts. So, I am entering this LO for the Bella Blvd challenge as well.

These are pictures from our Hawaii Trip (Oahu actually) in the year 2000. Our first anniversary vacation. I had to get the negatives scanned to get the digi prints, so the quality is not that great, but I love the memories associated with these pictures and so I had to create LO's with them.

I am also getting more bolder and experimental with my PSE10. I did not have much space on the tag to write with my own handwriting. So, I created a blank document in PSE 10, wrote the journaling and then printed it directly on the tag. YAY!!! Was so happy with the final result.

Thanks for stopping by,

February Viva La Verve Challenges - Week 1 and 2

It had been a while since I participated in Verve Sketch Challenges on SCS. Life happened and time was running!!!!! But I loved all the 4 sketches from February and decided to play. There is still time if you are interested to participate as well - Click here to visit their thread on SCS Forum.(Verve stamps are not needed, I use them as it is a good time to put these stamps to use).

Here are my cards from Week 1 and 2,

For both these cards I used VERVE Stamp set called Making a statement. I just love this set (the font for sentiments is amazing I think). I am not getting paid to say this - but I love VERVE and their fast shipping and this stamp set is on their spring sale right not.

They also have a die for the loopy flowers, next time I will for sure get those as it will be easier than cutting the by hand.

Here are the sketches,

Riley Birthday Card

Hello Friends, I was in a mild creative slump. I was creating some of my LOAD pages and working on my PL, but had not taken pictures and posted on blog as I felt that some of them had quite a bit of personal stories etc. I have to yet learn how to mask certain areas of a photographed page using PSE10. But today I made a card with a new (I mean new for me) Riley stamps that I had acquired a while ago and had not used.

This card is for three Challenges,

1) February Sketch for you to Try.
2) Riley and Co Challenge - Going Around in Circles.
3) Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Use three different papers.

I used patterned papers from PTI, MME and Making Memories. All the paper used on this card is from my stash which makes me very happy. I colored the Juggling Riley image with Copics and then added some Glossy Accents to the balls. Inside I used one of the patterned papers and added sentiment from PTI Birthday Bash. Riley and Co has some cute circus sentiment stamp set, but I do not have that, but I thought the sentiment Who is Counting, kind of went well with this image.

I was inspired by my Friend Michele and Imke's cards.

Golden Memories - Past Perfect

I am participating in Lain Ehmann's Load212 - Past Perfect. It started on Feb 1st. I have not yet fully completed day 1 and 2's prompts. But I wanted to share the two layouts that I did for Day 3 (Who am I today) and Day 4(The More things change).

Day 3 - Who Am I today - I figured who I am today is because of how my childhood was and how my parents raised me..So I created a layout with a few of my childhood photos with some journaling.

Day 4 - The more things change - I guess relationships become stronger and you grow more..That is what my layout talks about. My relationship with my brother as years have changed.

Holiday Tidings

I am supposed to be working on Valentine day cards, but some how I am all into Holiday cards :)) One of the challenges on the Weekly Christmas Card challenge(Apr 27th week) was to create a Christmas card with Lighthouse or Nautical theme. Immediately I thought of an old CHF Set that I own called Beacon of Hope.

I love the lighthouse images in this set. So I stamped one of them, colored it with copics. The sentiment is from PTI Take Three - Winter. I thought the word tidings kind of went well with the Nautical theme. The paper is from PTI Men of Life.

Stamp - CHF Beacon of Hope, PTI Take Three: Winter
Paper - PTI White, Pure Poppy and Hawaaiin Shores Card stock, PTI Men of Life Patterned Paper

Less is More - Sketch

I was browsing through some blogs and saw a card done with "Less is More" Week 52 - a sketch. I did a Christmas card using this sketch - also for our Weekly Christmas Card challenge on SCS for Feb3rd weekend challenge which is to create a CAS Card that does not require extra postage to mail.

Here is my card,

I used Lawn Fawn's vintage ornaments set for this card and stamped the ornaments on a few tree branches and colored them with copics. Added a red card stock border. The sentiment is from PTI Holiday Spirit Sentiments.
