Purple Christmas Card

I was inspired by my friend Imke to create a card using the January 2012 Sketch for you to try. I also used lots of purple (I kind of went overboard actually) and Snow man on this card for one of the weekly Christmas Challenges over at SCS hosted by my friend Donelda.

Here is the sketch,

Christmas Card with Non Traditional Colors

One of the challenges on the Weekly Christmas Card Challenge group that I am part of was to create a Christmas card with Non Traditional colors. Also, I just happen to love the color combination from this week's The Playdate Cafe Challenge #116 - Plum, Pear and Moldy Cheese. So, here is my card combining both of these,

I used the Lawn Fawn Vintage Ornaments set for this card. I embossed the ornament image with silver embossing powder and then sponged some Ranger DI Dusty Concord. I would have preferred a lighter purple, but this was the only good purple that I had. I then cut out the ornament and popped it up with some foam dots. The background bluish patterned paper is from Becky Higgins Project Life cobalt edition. I did not have a true pear color - this stars patterned paper was the closest that I found.

Here is the PDCC 116 Color swatch,

Project Life Tuesday - Cover, Title and Week Pages

Hello Friends, Welcome to Project Life Tuesday. This is actually week 3 of Project life, but I have not had a chance to take pictures and blog earlier. So this in fact is my blog post about the Cover, Title and Week 1 and 2 pages of my PL. My week 3 pictures are still in printing process. So hopefully next week I can post both week 3 and 4 next week.

Inspired by all the posts that Becky Higgins had about the project life, I also added a cover sheet for my PL. Here is a picture of the cover sheet (I used the cobalt edition patterned paper, a Doily and Martha stewart kraft label)

Here are my Title and Week 1 and 2 Pages,

Title Page,

Week 1,

Week 2 - I added an extra page protector and some journaling.

Some notes:
1) I used ListGirl's tutorial on printing directly on journaling cards tutorial from Studio Calico forum.
2) I bought the cobalt edition of Journaling Cards from jessicasprague.com and I use those as templates in PSE10 to do my journaling before I print them. I am using Segoe Script font for Journaling.
3)I resize the Instagram pictures to either 2x2 or 2.5x2.5 and put multiple of them on a 4x6 canvas in PSE 10 and then print them like a regular 4x6 photo and then cut out the individual pictures.

If I remember anything else useful I will add it here and if you have any questions for me, please leave a comment and I will answer as quickly as possible.

Winterberry Christmas

My Friend Donelda is hosting a Weekly Christmas card challenge on SCS so that we can make some Christmas cards in advance and not scramble around at the end of the year. It has been made fun by having a different challenge each week. Jan20th weekend challenge - provided by Donelda was to create a Christmas card using a tree/branch/bush/or leaf. I used PTI's Winterberry stamp set for my card.

I stamped the tree with Memento black and colored it with copics. I then added some red stickles to give it some bling. I stamped the snow flakes (From PTI Merry and Bright) in PTI Fresh Snbow and added some stickles to that as well.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Winterberry, PTI Merry and Bright
Paper - PTI White, Kraft and Ripe Avocado Cardstock, AC Christmas pattern paper
Ink - PTI Fresh Snow, Memento Black
Other - Stickles, copics

Be Mine

I am taking the Clean and Simple card making class from Online classes (Led by Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner and Julie Ebersole). Loving the class so far. I wanted to share on of the cards that I did for Day 1 of the class using one of the sketches.

Kristina actually showed a very interesting masking technique, but somehow I could not pull it off successfully, so I used a patterned paper instead, so this is not a true CAS card because of it. But I still like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Heart Prints
Paper - PTI White and Hibiscus Burst card stock, Little Yellow Bicycle patterned paper
Ink - Memento Black

Zeno

Zeno is the German Shepherd dog of my husband's family in India. I did this layout with the pictures that we took during our trip to India during November 2010. He is so hard to photograph as he is always moving and running.

Of course, I jumped at the chance of using Tim Holtz Rosette die. I am entering this layout for two challenges,

1) Sketchy Thursdays 1-5 Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch,

2)By the Numbers challenge on Scrapbook Challenges Forum. The challenge was to use,

1. 1 title
2. 2 photos
3. 3 stamped images (I used the stamps from PTI Journaling Lines - Lines, Sentiment and the star shaped stamp)
4. 4 circles - (2 for journaling circle and two circles from the brads)
5. 5 papers (3 patterened papers and 2 cardstock)
6. 6 buttons

Thanks for stopping by,
