Project Life Week 4

Hello Friends, Happy Tuesday. I am back with the Week4 of my Project life. Sadly no freebie today. Did not have time to create one. Maybe for next week.

I used the Yellow Hello card from Studio Calico PL kit and that kind of inspired my whole layout to be yellowish. Love the Yellows....

Here is a close up of some of the sections,

I used some Ali Edwards Brushes and PL Seafoam Kit cards in my PL Layout. The Week Art Title is from September Blue Blog  and of course I am playing along with Kristin's Currently Challenge

I am linking this up to The Mom Creative Blog

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #12

Hi Friends, Happy Monday. I am back with a quick hybrid card that I did for the CASE This Sketch Challenge #12. I just loved this sketch. I did the People image and the sending love sentiment digitally and then printed it out and then added the punched out order and pink chevron paper.

The People Clip art were part of PSE10. The Sending Love your way and the heart are part of Studio Calico Darling Dear Digital Stamps. I loved how this card turned out. I was totally inspired by Chrissy Larson's card for this sketch and how she used the Neon Colors.

here is the sketch,

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - Studio Calico Digital Stamps

Currently Blog Hop

The Currently Journaling Challenge takes five minutes out of your week to document your story.
8 Questions. 52 Weeks. Embracing Right Now.
Currently is a weekly journaling challenge created by Kristin from rukristin papercrafts. Currently fits in perfectly with Project Life and can easily be tailored to whatever your needs are. Every Friday, Kristin shares her Currently list journaling card on her blog, as well as on various social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Join the Currently community, use the hashtag #CurrentlyList to share your list and find great inspiration from others.

Here is my Currently Card for Week 4,

I do the Currently List every week and add it in the beginning or end of the my PL Layout (I do a two page PL layout with Picture of the Day). It is nice to document our lives with pictures, but doing Currently card every week has given me a new way of documenting. I would have loved to know what was I seeing in my 2009 PL album, but nothing like that is documented. It will be fun to go back and see how my reading and viewing tastes varied week to week. Totally enjoying this and plan to do this the entire year.
Ways to play along:
Enter for a chance to with the Currently Journaling Cards: Color Edition. Each blog on the hop is giving away one set of journaling cards to a lucky reader!  These journaling cards come in both an easy to print .pdf file and individual high res .jpg images for use in digital scrapping. Leave a comment below for your chance to win a set, or purchase the cards here for $1.
currently color edition journaling cards
Look for new sets of Currently Journaling cards each month; each set will retail for only $1 and will be available in the rukristin papercrafts shop
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out the Currently Journaling Challenge blog hop. Make sure to hop along to all the other participants for more inspiration and more chances to win a Currently Journaling card set.

Project Life Week 3 and Freebie

Hi Friends, 2nd post of the day. Please click here or scroll down to see the Seize the Birthday Card Post.

I am here to share my PL Week 3 pages. Going strong so far. But this is only the first month of the year. We have to see what the rest of the year brings. I am linking this to the "The Mom Creative" project life post.

Left Side:

Again, I am playing along with Kristin's Currently Challenge. Loving it so far. I also used a bunch of my own journaling cards on this page. I used a badge that one of the SC Members sent to me in a PL Swap. The I love dogs and the dog image is TAWS Freebie.

Right Side:
I used some Digi Stamps from SC directly on the photos. Loving that. I also created a ghosted journaling block on the Brave Temple Run capture and then journaled on it. Loving this idea. Here is a tutorial on Cathy Z on how to do the same in Photoshop Elements. The Filler card is one of the cards that I got in PL swap on Studio Calico.

Last but not the least, here is a freebie jorunaling card for you. This is the dog silhouette card that I have used on the left side page. I have both Vertical and Horizontal Orientation. Please let me know in comments if you like and use this card.

INSTRUCTIONS:
 1. Click the image above to enlarge it
2. Right click the image and save it to your computer
3. Add the image to a new Microsoft Word (or other word processing program) document. (or Photoshop or Photoshop Elements)

Seize the Birthday challenge #2

I loved the idea of Seize The Birthday Challenge blog to use the same sketch to create a feminine card one week and Masculine the other week. I missed playing along with the first challenge, but here is a quick card that I made for the 2nd Challenge.

I used the Bugaboo Digi stamp for my card today. Printed it out on some PTI Cardstock and colored it with Copics. I love this series of stamps from Bugaboo. Instead of including a sentiment on the outside, I decorated the inside of the card with a strip of the same patterned paper that I used on the front of the card and added a sentiment from PTI Birthday Basics Stamp set.

Here is the sketch from STB Blog,
Thanks for Stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - Bugaboo Digital Stamp

Project Life 2013 - Week 1 and Title

Hello Dear Friends, Hope you had a good weekend. I am doing Project Life again this year. Yup..Still loving this project.  I wanted to share my Title page for the Volume 1 album for this year and week 1 pages. I will also tell you a bit about what worked for me last year and what did not and what I am doing different. And for the first time, I am sharing a freebie with you - a Journaling card that I created for myself and thought y'all might want to use it as well.

Here are my pages,

TITLE PAGE,
 WEEK 1 Left Page
 WEEK 2 Right Page

For my Title page, I have used Freebies from Cathy Z  and Simple Stories.  I have subscribed for the Studio Calico PL Kit, but I had not gotten the kit yet and I wanted to get a jump start on my Title page. I am quite happy how it turned out.

I am playing along with Kristin's Currently Weekly challenge . You can see on the Right hand side of my week 1 page that I have the first of my Currently Cards. I really like this way of capturing our lives. I loved Elise's way of doing quotes and I downloaded her free quotes and am using those this year (love her handwritten word). So for my week Title page - I am using Elise's Quote, Calendar from Melissa's Store and week word art Freebie from September Blue blog.

For the rest of the weeek, I used a combination of Freebie Journaling cards, SeaFoam Digital Edition Journaling cards and few templates of my own.

So, what worked for me in 2012,
1) Keeping it simple wrt to photo selection, sometimes I had many photos, and some times I had one or two, I did not stress out much, Just picked the photos I liked and ran with it,
2) Kept the journaling and embellishments simple and whenever I had some big event, I made it easy on myself and used inserts.

What did not work for me,
1) Journaling - to keep track of it and esp when I was falling behind was hard.
2) Printing photos and waiting to pick them up etc.

What I want to do differently in 2013,
1) I am using OhLife Prompt everyday and it comes in my email at night and I just write a few lines so that it makes my journaling easy.
2) I am playing along with Capture365 - so that I get daily prompts in my email and I can record my every day in interesting ways, angles and work on my photography skills.
3) I am not going to buy the core kit, but just go with SC PL kit, Seafoam Digital edition and use up my stash.
4) I am also doing my week from Monday to Sunday instead of Sunday to Saturday like last year as I feel this will work better to keep the weekend together.

And finally my freebie, It is a Journaling card in JPG Format that you can add to a word or a power point document and print it out or use it in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. I used the Free Chevron pattern Paper from Doodlecraft for my journaling card.

3. Add the image to a new Microsoft Word (or other word processing program) document. (or Photoshop or Photoshop Elements)

Happy New Year

Hello Dear Friends, Happy new Year 2013..I know I am a bit late. But since this is my very first post in 2013, Hopefully I am forgiven..

We have a brand new challenge over at ICR forum - To create a calendar for 2013 along with the twist of using a recycled or upcycled element in your project. Loved this concept and what a great start for new year craft mojo.

I choose to use an old CD case to hold my Calendar Pages - making it my recycled element. I choose to go with different calendar pages for each month, just so that it will be more fun.

Here is my CD Calendar case with Jan, Feb and March Views, I also have additional photos of all the pages.

March is a birthday month in our home with lots of birthdays - so my March calendar is all Birthday based. You can click on each photo to see a bigger view.

Here are the pictures of my sets,

I had really lots of fun decorating the calendar pages bases on themes for each month. I used the Free Calendar download from Write. Click. Scrapbook. You can see I have a Diwali themed calendar page as well.

I printed the calendars directly on the patterned pages in some cases (where the pattern paper was light enough for the calendar to be read) and in some cases I added it separately.

I hope you will stop by ICR and play along with this challenge.

Thanks for stopping.
