Squigglefly - Living on the Edge

Squigglefly challenge #82 is to have some edges to your creation. I used the Fiskars Border Punch and punched out the front of the card. I used the Squigglefly image Singing in Rain. I had seen Dawn McVey use this pink and orange combo a few times and wanted to try it out. It looks much more pink than I would have liked, but still..

I used the Cupcake image from Belles 'n Whistles and colored her with Copics. I used some My Minds Eye Patterned paper and some flowers.

In keeping with my New year resolution of wanting to use all of my stamps at least once, I found this BnW stamp that I had bought a while ago and had never inked it. So, I searched and found the BnW challenge blog and here is my card. I am quite excited

Scattered Showers - Thinking Of You

The Challenge this time is,

"This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold"

I used one of my favorite older sets called "Scattered Showers" for this card. I had not used this stamp set in a while although it used to be one of my to go sets :) So, in honor of this blog hop, this set got inked up :)

I stamped the umbrella in Ranger DI - Spiced Marmalade, cut it out and popped it up with some foam dots. I cut out the flower using PTI Dies and added some button to it. I love the font in this stamp set.

The card is much better IRL, I forgot to take pictures of the 3D Effect. The white panel is raised as well as the umbrella :). I have inked the edges of the White panel as well as the Green Bitty Box Basics Patterned paper using PTI Chai Inking Cube, but for some reason does not show up well in the picture. I made this card for the Regular card spot in the PTI Card swap that we are having over at SCS. If you are interested in joining the next round of PTI Swap - Jennifer is hosting it - here is the link.

Please stop by at Nichole's blog to see the complete list of participants and to get inspired to use some of your older sets.

Hello, I love you

Hello Friends, It's Monday and time for {ippity} Hop. Please stop by at the {ippity} blog to see the complete list of participants.

Here is my card using Because Of You. I seem to be using this stamp for all my projects lately :)

I used the CPS Sketch #202 for this card. I cut out the flowers from the set and matted them with some Red CS and the sentiment completed the card. I thought of adding some stickles to the flowers, but they were looking quite good as they were, so did not add the stickles. Although my cutting could use some more practice :)

If you have some good cutting tips so as to not leave jagged edges, please do leave me a comment.

Here is the Sketch,

Project Life 2011 - Week 1and 2

Hello and Welcome to Week 1 and 2 of my Project Life. Even though I started my PL album on time this year, I did not post last week as I had not yet gotten my pictures printed. I am printing my pictures every two weeks :)

So here are the pictures of the Cover page and the layouts of the two weeks. I started my first day from Saturday - January 1st.

Cover Page - I have not embellished or done anything with the cover page except to assemble it per the example given in the PL kit.

 Week 1 - Page 1

 Week 1 - Page 2

 Week 2 - Page 1

 Week 2 - Page 2
You can see a journaling block is missing from this page. Still working on that. :) Got the photo just yesterday evening and could not complete it yet.

I am also participating in Ali Edwards One Little Word for 2011 class on Big Picture and will probably include those pages in this album as well. I also plan to add additional pages and journaling (I did the same for 2010), so I might end up buying another spare binder and split this year into two albums.

I want to thank my friend Chris for getting me hooked onto Project Life last year. It was lots of fun and enjoyed it thoroughly. Please see her post here on her tips on doing PL.

Thanks for stopping by.

I used this stamp called Everyday Miracles. Loved this set. I colored the image with Copics and added the sentiment. In retrospect, I could have added some pearls or something near the sentiment :)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my friends. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment.

New year -  New Beginnings. I wanted to share a few things that are part of  my crafting resolution,

1. Start a paper recycling container in the craft room and toss all the small scraps in the said container. No point in hoarding scraps that I never end up using.
2. Strive for quality than quantity.
3. Use up some of the card kits that I got from card kit and SS swaps
4. Use all of my stamps - at least once
5. Use up existing crafting supplies, before ordering the same.
6. Work on a heritage album for my Grand father
7. Get a head start on hand made Christmas gifts for my friends - to avoid scrambling at last minute
8. Try and Clean up the craft table each night, so as to get a clean start next day.
9. Just because it is in dollar bin or clearance bin, I DO NOT need that crafting item
10. Keep up with my Project Life 2011 album.

Thanks for stopping by and hoping that your new year is off to a good start.

Cheers
Banu
