Design Team on Indian Craft Room and ICRC23 Challenge

I am really really excited today. :))) I was offered the Design Team Position by Asha on Indian Craft Room.
I have known Asha for a while now and was always impressed with her creativity and passion. I have seen ICR take shape from her ideas and grow into this huge rocking community. I have worked with her in the background with some ideas and love hanging out in the forums and galleries over here at ICR, so when the opportunity presented to be officially part of the team, I was overjoyed, honored and totally excited.

As it happens I had won the Opportunity to do the Guest Post  for ICRC23, so this post comes at a very opportune moment. ICR23 is to make Paper Quilts with the Twist of making a Diwali Card.

I just loved this concept.  I was so excited that I ended up making two cards for this Challenge.

1) For my first card I used PTI's Quilter's Sampler stamp set. I stamped the quilt blocks on white CS, colored it with Markers. I then mounted them on a base and added a scalloped border. A sentiment completed the card.

2) For my 2nd card, I made my own quilt template with a diya in it and used different colored patterned papers for the diya and created the quilted block. For both the cards, I used the Samarkan font, printed the sentiment from computer and then cut it out.

I wanted to share this Quilt pattern I did and used for the diya in my 2nd card,

So as you can see it is not that difficult to create a quilted diya or some other pattern. So, would love to see you play along.

Again, I am so excited to be part of the DT for ICR team. Thanks for sharing my happy news with me.

Thanks for stopping by,
