Texas Bluebonnets

Hello Friends, I am back to share a quick card with you. I made this for some friends of mine who are moving out of town. I used the blue bonnets from Deadbeat Designs and the Shoe is from Gina K Designs Out West Stamp set.

The sentiment stamp is from Hobby Lobby. I do not remember the manufacturer. I cut out the boots and propped them up with some foam dots to get some dimension. I also added some eyelets to keep the rustic look of the card. The blue ink that I used for the Bluebonnets is the new Memento ink called Teal Zeal. Just love the new Memento Ink release. Overall I loved how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - Blue Bonnets from Deadbeat Designs, GKD Out West
Ink - Memento Teal Zeal, Memento Black, Copics
Paper - PTI White and Enchanted Evening CS

Mojo Monday Sketch on Wednesday

I find it kind of hard to do square cards for some reason :) Mostly because I do not do them much I guess..One of the challenges hosted by Vickie on our Weekly Christmas Card Challenge on SCS is to - create a square card, use lots of bling, and use the color pink somewhere on the card. This was from Feb 10th week..lol..I am just now getting to it. But still, it is another Christmas card done. So that is good.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #234 for this card and the image is from GKD StampTV kit Holiday Cheer. Here is the sketch,

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Holiday Cheer and Holiday Sentiments Stamp set
Paper - PTI Hawaiian Shore, Rustic White and Raspberry Fizz Cardstock, Patterned Papers from Stash

Jest for the Fun of it - CFC #41

CAS-ual Friday Challenge #41 - is Jest for the fun of it. To create cards that use Pun in your sentiment. I loved this challenge and kind of went overboard and created three cards for this challenge. I would have loved to create more, but then I knew time was running short and I needed time to photograph it and blog it as well. But I was late anyways and could have created few more cards while I was feeling creative.

So here are my cards,

1) Happy Bird-day - This image is from SU Pun Fun Stamp set. Love all the images in this stamp set. Made a simple CAS card.

2) You Light up my Life - I used the latest PTI Stamp set Lighten up for this card. I die cut the light stand and shade and kept it simple. This is also for the PTI Swap hosted by Steffie on SCS - for the masculine card category. I was inspired by a card on SCS, but I forgot to book mark it. Will edit the post to give her credit as soon as I can find it.

3) Thanks Sew Much - Last but not least is this Thank you card using "Many Happy Re-turns" stamp set from GKD Designed by Rupa Shevde. Love this stamp set. Not my best coloring on the sewing machine. But some how liked how this turned out. I used the patterned paper from Material Girl pack and love how these have sewing related stuff on the pages.

Happy Anniversary

I wanted to share this anniversary card that I did for my friend. I used the Image from GKD Heartfelt Hits 1 Stamp set and the sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages. I stamped the image on white CS and on the red polka dot paper. Then I cut out the dress from the red polka dot paper and adhered to the stamped image.

I did this card for
1) Moxie Fab World - Paper Piercing Challenge.

2) Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #44 - Source of Inspiration

I was inspired by the Cutie Pie Mr and Mrs Card by Katie Stilwater on Page #52( March/April Paper Crafts Magazine). It was so simple and elegant and I remembered I had a similar GKD stamp that I could use.

3) StampTV Sketch Spotlight Challenge - STVSKSP13

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #100 - Pride & Prejudice

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge is celebrating their 100th Challenge - and the movie they chose is Pride and Prejudice. I love love this movie. I have watched the latest one so many times and I have read the book so many times :) Awesome indeed.

I am not really good at creating Vintage cards. So, for this card, I took inspiration from the dresses and colors from the movie. I loved that one scene where Elizabeth is visiting Darcy's Home at Pemberley. I loved the striped dress that she is wearing in that scene - you can see some pictures here.

So, here is my card based on the dress from the above scene and with some vintage papers that I had in my stash. I paper pierced the dress and I did not have the exact striped paper as the dress, but I think this comes close. The stamp set is GKD - Retro Boutique designed by Rupa Shevde. I used some pearls and lace as well :)

Here is the CSCC Challenge,

I used Taylored Expressions Sketch #133 for this card,

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Retro Boutique Stamp Set
Paper - SU and Other patterned Paper, PTI White CS
Ink - Memento Black

Love and Cherish

I wanted to share this Engagement card that I did for a friend. I used some of the Tajmahal collection paper from DCVW that my friend Amy sent to me. This paper is so beautiful in real life, my photography truly does not do any justice to that paper. I paper pierced the dress from the image using PTI Bitty Dot Basics Polka Dot Paper in Green.

She had wanted an Engagement card with some Traditional Indian colors and texture but also with a retro feel. So this patterned paper with this image from Gina K designs was perfect for this card. I printed the sentiment from Computer and added some pearls to the card.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Heartfelt Hits
Paper - DCVW Tajmahal Collection Patterned paper, PTI Bitty Dot Basics PP, GKD Green CS

Black and White Christmas Cards

I wanted to share the two Black and White Christmas cards that I did for the Kelli Jo's Swap on SCS.

My first card uses the single stamp from Stampin Up - Dasher. I loved this stamp set. I have used some black gingham patterned paper from Making Memories. I used the new Snow dots Embossing folder with some Gina K designs Mother of Pearl Metallic CS. This paper is just gorgeous and has an awesome sheen to it. I tried to get a close up picture.

here is the close up picture,

For my 2nd card, I used Gina K Designs Christmas in July set- Blessed is the Season. This set is just so pretty. I kept the design simple again. I used the script image from this set and created the background using Memento London Fog Ink. I felt that black might be too overwhelming. Then the tree image formed the focal image. I wanted to put some liquid applique or Stickles on the tree branches, but forgot to do that :(

Thanks for stopping by,

Supplies:
Stamp - Blessed is the Season by GKD, Dasher by Stampin Up
Ink - Memento Black, Memento London Fog
Paper - Making Memories Patterned Paper, PTI White, Black CS, GKD Mother of Pearl Metallic Card stock

Birthday Cards for MAN Cards Swap

I wanted to share the Birthday Cards that I did for the MAN card Swap hosted by my friend Jen on SCS. I want to apologize in advance for the bad pictures...I am still learning the art of photographing my projects at night.

I used Rupa Shevde's Are We There Yet stamp set from GKD for this card. I colored this Vespa scooter with blue and used some GKD CS layers. Ribbon is from SU. This card was inspired by Kurtis's card as seen here

I used SU's Pocket Silhouette's and Upsy Daisy sets for this card. This is a CASE of the card from Mary Fish who is my SU Demo. Here is her card. I loved this card so much that I pretty much kept it the same. I did not have the exact Embossing folder that she used, so I used a different one and plus I used buttons instead of eyelets.

Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Are We There yet, SU Pocket Silhouette, SU Upsy Daisy
Ink - PTI Dark Chocolate, Memento Black, Copics

Thinking Of You Cards

My Friend Jen is hosting a "MAN" Cards swap on SCS. Since I do not make that many masculine cards, this was a good challenge for me. I wanted to share the two cards that I did for the Thinking of You Category.

For this first Card, I used the PTI Turning a new Leaf stamp set. I stamped one of the branch image using Memento London fog as the background. The bolder branch image was embossed with clear embossing powder for the side panel and the dragon fly from PTI Pond Life became the center image. Inside of the card, I stamped the leaf image again and put the sentiment Thinking Of you.

Here is the inside of the card,

I used GKD Stamp Life is good designed by Theresa Momber for this second card. I really like how this turned out. I sponged the sentiment using some distress ink and the used some PTI Twine for the rustic look.

Gina K Designs December Blog Hop

I am always looking forward to the Gina K Designs Member Blog Hop as it is the best way to get inspired and see what other crafters are creating with the same stamp sets :) Love it.

December Blog Hop from Gina K Designs was to create a card or scrapbook page using the latest December Release set. You can read all about it, and link your own projects and also get some inspiration - here.

Here is my card. I used Theresa's Life is Good set and tried to create a winter scene and I personally loved how it came out. I kept it simple and clean. :)

I colored the image very lightly with Copic Markers to give it a weathered cabin look and then added some Y11 on the windows for the light effect. I also dotted the Trees and shrubs with some green to give an illusion of green shrubs and trees covered with snow. Of course star dust stickles to give the snow effect.

Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Life is good Designed by Theresa Momber
Paper - GKD Cardstock - Fresh Asparagus, Ivory and Generic Red CS
Ink - Memento Brown and Copics
Other - Stickles, SU Word Window Punch

Mass Produced Holiday Cards

Hello All, I have not participated in challenges this past week. Have been busy with Holiday cards and preparing my handmade Holiday gifts etc :) So, I wanted to share some of the holiday cards that I mass produced and the inspiration for them :) So, please bear with my long post.

1) Seasons Greetings and Peaceful Poinsettia Cards- These cards were inspired by Nichole Heady's cards and here is the link where she gave instructions on all the details for mass producing these cards.

I changed a few things on these, but kept the overall theme same. I made like 10 cards of these and it was so easy to do with the instructions.

2)There was a challenge on Stamp TV to create cards with partial cuttlebug embossing...So again, I felt this was so easy to mass produce and you can always change the focal image - which is what I did with the two cards here :) One has two punched snowflakes and the other one has a stamped snow flake.

These are also good for emergency cards. If you have the embossed sheet done and then put the ribbon and mount it on card base, then if you need a card in emergency, just put the focal image and a sentiment and you are ready to go. You can even leave a bit more space for the sentiment and you can punch out a bunch of sentiments and keep it ready :)

3) I made this card with PTI Warm Happiness set inspired by Mish Mash's card as shown here. I did not have the exact sentiment set etc and so I improvised :)

4) This card was inspired by one of the mass producing ideas from Nichole in this post. I used the Festive Cards Idea by Niki Estes, but replaced it with another image that I had. But I used all the cutting measurements that she had mentioned along with the new Rustic Snowflakes paper from PTI.

5) This card was inspired by Sharon Johnson (No Time to Stamp Blog). She had mentioned on how to utilize a 6x6 paper completely so that there is no wastage to mass produce the cards. I used her technique, but instead of the cutting it at 4 1/4 as she has mentioned, I cut it at 4 as I was using another layer on the card base. Here is her post that talks about it. I used the new Dear Santa Designer Paper from Kaisercraft.

I also used the new justrite stamps - square border and merry Christmas sets, embossed it and did a mass production. It was quite fun.

6) Last but not the least - I did this card using the Warm and Wonderful card kit from Jessica Fick sold on Gina K Designs. I purchased some extra paper and I had this stamp set as well, So instead of the 4 cards, I ended up making 10 cards. I had to substitute a different snowflake as the kit came only with 4, but still it was lots of fun.

So these are my mass produced cards this year and it was lots of fun doing it. Thanks for your patience :)

A very first Gina K Designs Customer Blog Hop. I am of course super thrilled to be part of this. :) I love their stamp sets and this is a great opportunity to see all the beautiful creations that can be done from their latest release. You can go to Gina's blog and add a link to you blog so we can admire and get some eye candy.

For my card, I used the latest StampTV Kit - Holiday Cheer. I have to say I love this set. Has versatile set of images and the possibilities are endless. The only thing stopping me is TIME :)

This image from Holiday cheer set is so much fun to color with Copics and is very forgiving also :)

Here is my card.

I also did this card for Copic Color Challenge #40. The challenge was to use the colors RV23 (Pure Pink), YR04 (Chrome Orange) and YG06 (Yellowish Green). I did not have YG06, so used YG09 instead and used RV25 instead of RV23.

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #58 - Roman Holiday

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #58 this time was inspired by the movie Roman Holiday. I cannot tell you how much I love this movie. I have seen it N number of times and still never get tired of it. :D I have plans to see this movie again this weekend :)

Some of my fav scenes are when she does not realize she has to pay for the flower :) or when Gregory Peck puts his hand in that Idol or statue and pretends he was hurt :) Or even the last party scene on the boat :) Amazing movie and amazing acting by my two fav actors....

I was so enthused by this challenge that I ended up doing two card for this.

The first one was inspired by the Vespa that they drive around in Rome. I kind of imagined it to be of a pale or dirty green :) So here is my card using the Scooter image from Rupa Shevde's "Are We There yet" set.

Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Are we there yet set
Paper - SU DP, SU Grey and PTI White CS
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Other - Buttons, Pearls and Nestabilities

My 2nd card was inspired all these beautiful A cut dresses that Audrey wears in the movie. I used another Rupa Shevde set called Retro Boutique. I paper pierced the dress and added some pearls and flowers :)

I used the Unscripted Sketch #31 for this card.

Supplies:
Stamp - Gina K Designs - Retro Boutique
Paper - Making Memories DP, PTI Melon berry CS
Ink - Memento Black
Other - Prima Flowers, Pearls, Offray Satin Ribbon

Holiday Cards

I wanted to share some Holiday cards that I have been working on. So, sorry in advance for the long post :)

1) I found this real cute ginger bread man stamp in Michael's dollar stamp bin. I had not bought PTI's Holiday Button bits stamp set but have been ogling all the neat cards made from that set and this stamp reminded of the gingerbread man from that set. So here is my card from that stamp,

It is not as cute as the image from PTI Set, but still was a fun card to make.

Supplies:
Stamp - Generic Gingerbread Man stamp
Paper - Fa La La Collection from Making Memories, Generic Card Stock Base, GKD Pure Luxury 120lb White CS, PTI Smokey Gray CS
Ink - Memento Brown
Other - Generic Golden Satin Ribbon, Nestabilities, Buttons

2) This is the card that I did for the Squigglefly Monday Sketch Challenge. They have a new challenge on their blog every Monday. I also used another Digital stamp from Squigglefly. This is their latest release - Mr. Snowman. There are some wonderful samples out there with this stamp. I kept my card pretty simple.

Here is the sketch,

Supplies:
Stamp - Mr.Snowman - Digital Image from Squigglefly
Paper - Fa La La Collection from Making Memories, GKD Pure Luxury 120lb CS, GKD Metallic Gold Paper, Generic Card Base
Ink - Copics
Other - Nestabilities

3) The last card I am sharing uses a stamp image from Gina K Designs StampTV Kit - Holiday Cheer and it also uses a technique called Split Negative - showcased by Gina on StampTV. Here is a link to the video that has the tutorial for this technique. Mine of course has not come out as Gina has showed..but I am quite happy with the outcome considering this is the first time I am doing it.

I used the bow easy (sold at Gina K Designs) to create this beautiful double looped bow. I cannot tell you how easy it was and how professional and neat it looks. This is one of the best purchases I have made. Gina also has a tutorial on how to use the bow easy on stamptv.

Supplies:
Stamp - GKD Holiday Cheer StampTV Kit
Paper - GKD Black, GKD Metallic Gold CS, Martha Stewart Christmas DP, Generic Card Base
Ink - Versamark
Other - Black and Gold Embossing Powder, Generic Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Nestabilities

THANKS for your patience and for looking. :)
