Pink Scooter Valentine

Hi Friends, The week is almost coming to an end. I will still share my PL pages here but I will try to combine weeks. It will be a bit more photo heavy, but easier for me.

Valentine's day is just around the corner as time flies..So, I wanted to share this Valentine's day card I did with some Digital Scooter image and some old Circle elements that I had.

I kept the card simple with the image taking up the spotlight. I used some bright Pink Gingham paper from PTI and some small paper roses from Michaels. All in all, a super simple card, but I loved all the pink and red happening on the card.

Thanks for Stopping by,

ICRC26: CANDY HOLDER + LOVE IS "UP IN THE AIR"!

Hi Friends, It is Feb 1st - means time for the Monthly ICR Challenge. This month we are celebrating the ICR 2nd Anniversary. So we have tons of acitvities, games, challenges and fun things planned for y'all. Would love for you to stop by and Celebrate with us.

Without further Ado - for the ICRC26 - Candy Holder with Love Up In the Air Theme - I created this Hershey's bar holder with a plane in clouds image and used the Sentiment "Love is Up In the Air". The Hershey's bar is held with a ribbon, so you can pull the bar out by pulling on the Ribbon. This is a very simple and easy Candy Holder to make.

Here is my Project,

Recipe:
1. Cut a Card Stock 7 x 5.5 inches (This is for the Big Hershey's bar that we get in USA). But you can adjust this to any Candy bar. Basically 7 inches is 1/2 inch more than the length of the candy bar and 5.5 inches is 1/2 inch more than the circumference of the candy bar.
2. Score the card stock on the 7 inch side at 2.5 and 5 inches. Fold the 1/2 inch, add some glue or sticky tape and close it. The bottom portion can also be closed the same way or crimped.
3) I made two slots on the open top portion using SU Slot Punch, but you can do the same with a regular hole punch as well.
4) Take about 15-16 inches long ribbon. Thread it through the two slots and then slide the chocolate bar inside the pocket while keep the ribbon at the bottom of the bar and then tie the top into a know. Now if you pull the ribbon, the bar will slide out with it.
5) Decorate the top of the pocket as you like.

There is a detailed tutorial on SplitCoastStampers as well.

I used some Crate Paper  Cardstock for my Candy Holder and I decorated the Top with PTI Flying By Stamp set (The best 5 dollar stamp set that I ever got). I colored the Airplane with Copics, I printed the sentiment from Computer (Used Lauren Script for the font) and added few PTI Cloud Die cuts (whose edges I inked with copics). Some hearts stamped on this completed the project.

This is fun to make as valentines for School Projects, Teachers and even friends. I hope you felt a bit inspired to go create your own and enter in the ICRC Challenge.

Thanks for Stopping by,

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #12

Hi Friends, Happy Monday. I am back with a quick hybrid card that I did for the CASE This Sketch Challenge #12. I just loved this sketch. I did the People image and the sending love sentiment digitally and then printed it out and then added the punched out order and pink chevron paper.

The People Clip art were part of PSE10. The Sending Love your way and the heart are part of Studio Calico Darling Dear Digital Stamps. I loved how this card turned out. I was totally inspired by Chrissy Larson's card for this sketch and how she used the Neon Colors.

here is the sketch,

Be Mine

I am taking the Clean and Simple card making class from Online classes (Led by Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner and Julie Ebersole). Loving the class so far. I wanted to share on of the cards that I did for Day 1 of the class using one of the sketches.

Kristina actually showed a very interesting masking technique, but somehow I could not pull it off successfully, so I used a patterned paper instead, so this is not a true CAS card because of it. But I still like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Heart Prints
Paper - PTI White and Hibiscus Burst card stock, Little Yellow Bicycle patterned paper

I (heart) FTL 26

I have been busy finishing up some favors for my friends baby shower (More on that coming later), so have not had a chance to work on lot of my pending projects. So, when I finally got a chance to work on the Clean and Simple Sketch - FTL 26 (you can see the link to Clean and Simple Sketches on the right hand side of my blog), I was really excited. This sketch has so many possibilities, this will probably become one of my go to sketches.

Supplies: PTI Kraft Cardstock, Generic Brown and Pink CS, Target Dollar Spot PP (The hearts are punched out of this PP, Valentine day sentiment stamp is from Michaels dollar spot, American craft Glitter Pen, Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

Bag the Challenge

Nichole Heady from PTI has been having various give aways to celebrate PTI's 2nd anniversary. You can see her blog here
Day 5 challenge was to alter a bag, any bag. Of course Nichole has done amazing work with her Tote using Garden Life set, but I am have no expertise in sewing. So taking inspiration from Chris and Amy (Whose blog links are on the right hand side), I altered this gift bag to give my husband his Valentine's day gift. This is the first time I am altering a gift bag and it was really fun and I think the final product looks much better than any store bought Valentine day gift bag.

Here is my bag creation,

Close up of the Heart prints center part,

Supplies: PTI Black and White Basics DP, PTI White Shimmer and Raspberry Fizz Card stock, PTI Heart Prints Set, Nestabilities, PTI Circle Borders and Corners, Raspberry Fizz Ribbon, Generic Twine, PTI Raspberry Fizz and Pure Snow Ink.

DISCLAIMER: I apologize in advance for the bad photography. That is a result of my laziness (i.e. not using tripod) and my eagerness to take pictures in the evening as soon as I am done with it and not waiting till daylight.

Also I was running out of sticky tape, so tried some regular glue for the side panels on this bag and that did not work out too well. :(

Combined Challenges

I really liked that latest sketch Challenge that Taylor has on her blog (Click here to see TECC53 sketch). I was trying to come up with a good design for this layout when I saw the OCCC challenge - which was to make a card with two or more hearts (See OCCC Challenge here). So, I figured these two would work great combined and here is my take on these,

I love green and even though it is not a traditional Valentine's day color, I had to use that in my card. :) Sorry for the bad picture, I had completed this project in the evening and could not wait until day time to take the picture. Hence the awkward lighting and shadows. Thanks for looking.

Supplies: PTI Heart Prints, PTI Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet and White Shimmer CS, Large Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Martha Stewart DP, Nestabilities.

First PTI Swap of 2009

My friend from SCS, Sara is hosting the First PTI swap for 2009. Keeping in mind that Valentines day is just around the corner, I did a Valentine's Day card using PTI Heart Prints set. I did not buy any of PTI Raspberry Fizz patterned paper, so instead I created my own using Raspberry Fizz Ink and Guidelines Stamp set. I was personally very happy as to how the patterned paper turned out. I had always seen Nichole do it so effortlessly.

Without further ado, here is my card. Comments and Suggestions are welcome.

Supplies:
PTI Heart Prints Set, PTI Guide Lines set, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, PTI Raspberry Fizz CS and Ink, PTI Chocolate CS, PTI Burnt Umber Ink, PTI Raspberry Fizz Satin Ribbon

Love You Much Bundle - Loving It

I got the Love you much bundle from Stampin Up..Psst.They also had free shipping during that time. The only time I have seen SU do free shipping since I have been buying from them maybe since 2003. It was really nice. This bundle that came with patterned paper and punch was a great deal.

I have been experimenting with this stuff, but then I saw the FTL2O (Click here to see the Sketch) sketch and this stamp set felt right.

Here is the card,

Along with stickles, I have been trying Martha Stewart Glitter pens and they are way to cool. I like them a lot. The hearts on the side of the card, have been dotted with the glitter pens.

Supplies: SU Love you much bundle, Generic PP, Ribbon, PTI Raspberry Fizz Ink, PTI Vintage cream paper, Martha Stewart Glitter Pens.

I guess I am on a roll here with my blog. So, if I do not post any more tonight, then Good night and have a good weekend. Else.... you might see another post from me.
