Happy Holidays Poinsettia Card

I am enjoying card making so much. I did this Holiday Greetings Poinsettia card for two challenges.

1. Clean and Simple Cards Challenge - Sketch #298

2. Allsorts Challenge Blog - Week 493 - Poppies and/or the colour red

I did not find a poppies stamp in collection readily. So I went with the color red instead. I used this Poinsettias from PTI's "Year of Flowers: Poinsettias" Stamp set. I stamped them on a text printed paper and then colored over it with Copics. I love how elegant this CAS card looks.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. Overall, this card turned out great and I would reuse this sketch to create a few bulk holiday cards. The scalloped border adds very good detail.

Thanks for Stopping by,

Retro Sketches #111

Thursday Mojo was strong. I had very little time, but I got two cards done for Retro sketches. I was on a roll and very happy.  Even though the sketch looked like a square card, I opted to do regular size for ease of use.

Here are my two cards for Retro Sketches #111,

I created a tag using PTI tag die and then just added it to the card base. I just love this idea. When I have time I can create a bunch of tags that can be added to a gift bag, gift or even a card :))

For this 2nd card, I used this cute dog image from Inky Antics and then added a PTI Sentiment and also some buttons and cute dog pattern paper.

Hope you liked the cards...:)) Here is the retro Sketch #111,

Here is my card. I did the Camera and Smile from the computer using PSE. The sentiment is from PTI - Birthday Bash Sentiments Stamp set.

I used this patterned paper from an old Studio Calico Kit. Rounded off the corners to add some effect. Stamped the sentiment directly on the patterned paper. Some gemstones finished off the card.

Hi Friends, How are you doing? I have been a bit late with my Project Life Posts. Life has happened LOL..I will be back tomorrow with a couple of spreads of PL.

Meanwhile, I did a few Christmas cards over the weekend. It is never too early to get started on your Christmas cards.

I did this card for,

A) July Christmas Cards Challenge on SplitCoastStampers - To create a card with Red, Blue and White Color Scheme and to use something sparkly on the card.
B) Challenge #27 on A Blog Named Hero - To create a card or project using your fav Hero Arts Stamp. I used this Holiday Owl set from Hero Arts.
C)Merry Monday Merry Monday Month Long - Anything Goes Christmas Card challenge.

I kept the card simple with red card base and some old Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Paper. I stamped and colored the hat of the Owl with Blue Copic Marker and then add the sentiment to a white punched out paper. Overall, just a simple card, but loved how it turned out. I also added some red gem embellishment on the corner of the card to add something sparkly.

ICR Holi Blog Hop

Welcome to Pichkari Holi Blog Hop by ICR Team. You can start at ICR Forum and get all the deets on the Blog Hop.

Here is some info about Holi On Wikipedia. Holi is also called the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the season of hope and joy. The gloom of the winter goes as Holi promises of bright summer days. Nature too, it seems rejoices at the arrival of Holi and wears its best clothes. Fields get filled with crops promising a good harvest to the farmers and flowers bloom colouring the surroundings and filling fragrance in the air.

I always have associated Holi with bright colors and awesome get together with Family and Friends (and of course yummy food and sweets).

So to document the awesome Holi Party that we had at our friend's place just this last weekend, I created this scrapbook Layout using the March Sketch from ICR. Fun Sketch isn't it? There is plenty of time left to play along if you are interested.

I drew inspiration from our clothing colors and used some Blues and pinks on the layout and of course I had to use the bright Alphabet Stickers to celebrate Holi.

And I for sure wanted to create a card as well and again I did a card for this month's ICR Challenge #27 - One Layered card with Repeated Stamping.

Again, there is still time for you to play along, we would love to see your card creations. I did my own template in Word for this card and placed the text (using text box) and then printed it out and then stamped the PTI Mehendi Medallion Stamps over the card base. I would redo this card again and probably add some sequins or gem stones to add some more glitter.

I hope you enjoyed the projects and would love to hear from you and also see your creations in ICR.

If you are here from Sheetal's Blog then you are on the right path. If not, you can go to the ICR Forum and start from there.

Once you are done commenting on all the participating DT blogs, you can go back to ICR forum and add your name to the inLinkz tool to get the tokens. You can collect tokens for various ICR Activities through out the year and the one with most tokens will be eligible for a surprise prize package at the end of the year. Sounds like fun????

Seize the Birthday challenge #2

I loved the idea of Seize The Birthday Challenge blog to use the same sketch to create a feminine card one week and Masculine the other week. I missed playing along with the first challenge, but here is a quick card that I made for the 2nd Challenge.

I used the Bugaboo Digi stamp for my card today. Printed it out on some PTI Cardstock and colored it with Copics. I love this series of stamps from Bugaboo. Instead of including a sentiment on the outside, I decorated the inside of the card with a strip of the same patterned paper that I used on the front of the card and added a sentiment from PTI Birthday Basics Stamp set.

Here is the sketch from STB Blog,

Appreciate you

Hello Friends, Happy Friday :) We have a cold front here in Texas :) But it is nice and toasty in my craft studio..so all is well.

This is a card that I made for
1) CASE Study Challenge #114

I just love the design/Layout of Julia's card - you can see her original card on the CASE Study challenge blog - and kept the same and instead of the felt plants she had in her card, I used butterflies for my card.

2) I am also entering this card for the Indian craft room Challenge - ICRC22 : MONOCHROMATIC + LETTER FAMILY!!!

So, the challenge was to create a card with Monochromatic Colors and use embellishments from the same letter.

So, I went with B - Blue, Blue Patterned Papers, Butterfly, Bling, Brad (the big butterfly has a blue brad in the center).

Loved how this card turned out. I used PTI Butterfly dreams stamp set for this card and the sentiment is from PTI YOF - Lily of the Valley stamp set. I then punched out some extra butterflies using MS punches and then added some brad and bling. The blue flower felt ribbon was from stash.

October 2012 PTI Blog Hop

The Challenge this time for PTI Blog hop is to create Holiday project with non traditional holiday colors. I am on a roll with my Christmas cards so this was perfect and it is always fun to experiment with Non Traditional colors. So be warned of this photo heavy post as I created three cards for today's blog hop.

1) First up is this Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz Combination,
I stamped the wreath image from PTI Wreath for all seasons in Raspberry Fizz and added the berries in Blue (I do not have PTI Hawaiian shores ink - so used a memento ink here). The sentiment from Signature Christmas was also stamped in blue. Here is the combo from Nichole Heady's Blog,

2) Second is the card I did with Pine Feather, Ocean Tides and Pure Poppy. I just loved how this card turned out,
I used Rustic Snowflakes and Dearest Jane Patterned Papers along with Ocean Tides, pine Feather, Vintage Cream card stock. Sentiment is from PTI Fillable Frames #8. I added a few snow flakes brads as well. Here is the combo from Nichole Heady's blog,

3) Last but not the least, I used Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet and Harvest gold combination. I also used Retro Sketches #34 for this card.
I used the PTI 2008 Holiday tags stamp set for this card and this was a truly unusual color combination for me to use for a holiday card. It was nice to work out of my comfort zone. I also used the doily details dies from PTI.
Here are the retro sketch and combo from Nichole Heady's blog,

Framed Christmas Card

2nd Post for the day. Please scroll down or click here to see the Cas-ual Friday Challenge Post.

I loved PTI's Fabulous frames dies and I had so many ideas with it, but some how I never created anything with them until now. As soon as I saw the Paper Players Challenge #118 - CAS Framed Challenge, I wanted to create a Christmas card with the fabulous frames Die.

I cut the Polaroid frame from Basic Grey Blitzen paper collection. I punched out the Christmas tree using the EK Success punch and then layered the frame over it with some foam dots so it looked like the tree was visible through the window. The Snowflakes patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket collection. I like how this card turned out and will probably do a few more.

Distress Ink Farm Scene

Yay!!! I finally got to ink my On the Farm stamp set from PTI. I was browsing through some blogs and saw this distress ink scene tutorial from Isha and the challenge on Do More with Less blog about getting inspired from a packaging.

I was totally inspired by the Yogurt that I buy for our home all the time. Here is my inspiration image.
See how there is a barn and all the sloping green grassy hills and of course the cow...:)) So, here is my card based on this packaging and using the distress ink scene technique from Isha.

I created the grass scene first with a few masks and then stamped the Sun image from the On the farm set. Added a bit more of distress inks, stamped the barn image. I die cut the cow from PTI On the farm die and then added a few black markings using Copic Black marker and a sentiment completed the card.
