ICR Scrapbook Challenge #6

Happy Thursday and Happy Independence day to all my Indian Friends. Scrapbook Challenge #6 is now live on ICR.

It is a simple sketch challenge and I love sketches and esp sketches which have 4x6 photos on them which makes the whole layout very easy to do.

Here is my layout. These are pictures of my friend's daughter and of course her friend. I just love these pictures of the girls together wearing same outfit. I remember wanting to have the same outfit as my friend's when I was a kid. :)

I used some papers from an old studio calico kit. I love the heart border punch from Fiskars. The best part of this LO for me is the Emily Merritt's new Journaling cards available on TLP called "Beautiful You". I used the Hello Beautiful Circle that I cut out from a Journaling card and the heart on the top right corner as well. I also used Emily Merritt's One Hundred Percent (the red circular tag near the heart). This is one of my most fav EM collections ever. Some SC Wooden Asterix and bird finished off my layout.

Hope you stop by ICR to check out our scrapbook Challenge and to play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - none
Paper - Patterned Paper from Studio Calico Kit.
Ink - Memento Black, Ranger Vintage Photo

Scrapbook Challenge #4 on ICR

Hello Friends, Hope you had a great weekend and ready for the new week. I was down with a bit of fever and cold, but feeling much better now. So, my project life is a bit late. Hopefully by Tuesday I can post both weeks.

Here we are with our 4th Scrapbook challenge in ICR Forum. It is a sketch this time and we would love for you to play along with us.

Here is my layout. These are pictures of my niece Gauri and I just loved the expression on her face. I printed the black and white pictures and they were perfect for this bright pink background paper.

I die cut the adorable title using my Silhouette and used some Thickers from Studio Calico Kit,. In fact the papers are also from an SC Kit,. I used some washi tape, some MME Buttons and flags and some labels as well. I also used Emily Merritt's Thumbs Way Up also on my layout. Just love her designs.

Supplies:
Stamp - MFT Captured Memories
Paper - Studio Calico Kit
Ink - Memento Black

Happy Always

Hi Friends, Happy Sunday. Hoping that your week went well. We had a good weekend and I am here to share this layout that I did of my friend's daughter. This was just a impromptu picture she got on her mobile phone camera, but the emotions and the smile on her face was just priceless, so I had to create a layout with it.

I used Emily Merritt's Big Bold Letters Color to create the Title and added the always (a silhouette die cut). Of course I had to use Emily's Thumbs Way Up. Just love the sentiment that says "100%B Awesomeness". Some hodge podge of patterned papers from Stash and some chipboard buttons completed the page. Easy layout, but feels so good and happy just like the Girl.

You can stop by at The Lilypad to check out more Emily's designs. She has a new one for Summer. Watch out for a layout using those journaling cards.

Thanks For stopping by.

Traditional - a scrapbook layout

Hi Friends, Happy Friday. I hope you are having a good day and looking forward to the weekend. I am excited on Fridays :))

I wanted to share this quick layout that I did of my friend and her daughter in Traditional Indian Outfits. I just loved these pictures and they were perfect with this Blue and Pink Polka Dot paper that I had.

I kept it simple with the colors of the papers and the photos speaking for themselves. I had to add some butterfly embellishments and I am in love with the bottle cap stickers lately. So, I had  to use this one that says Girls Rule. I also used the 100% Awesomeness label from Emily Merritt's Thumbs Way Up Collection.

Here are some closeup's,

I used Studio Calico's new 12x12 Grid Paper as my background. I am in love with these papers. They make the perfect Nuetral backgrounds. And I am totally in love with the my new Silhouette blade. It makes cutting welded letters such a joy and Making my layouts look so much nicer.

Thanks for stopping by.

Galveston Layout

Hello Friends, Happy Thursday. I wanted to share this layout that I did of our recent (well a few months ago) Galveston Trip. It was during my Birthday and Anniversary.

I used one of the sketches from the 28 days of Sketches from Lisa Day class on BigPictureClasses.com. I love Lisa's sketches and this came together very quickly. I have also used Becky Higgins Photo Love stamp on the tag, some wooden flair from SC Atlantic collection, some sequins etc.

The Ocean Cures Everything Journaling card, Road Trip and Breathtaking Journaling cards are from Emily Merritt's designs. I used Ahoy and Headed That Way.

Here are some closeup's,

I love how Emily Merritt Designs go so well together with Studio Calico Atlantic Collection. I hope you stop by at The-Lilypad and check out her designs.

Thanks for Stopping by.

LPS SKetch #1

I am back with another layout...I am on a roll :)) This is again for Life.Paper.Scrapbook - their First Sketch Challenge.

These are pictures from our Seattle trip when we went to the first Starbucks store that was opened. It was just awesome. Especially since I am such a huge coffee and much huger (it is a word for me) fan of Starbucks coffee.

Since my pictures were horizontal, I rotated the sketch to make it work for me and I created a mirror image and did two page LO.

Here is the sketch,

I am also entering this LO for the Shop Your Stash Challenge #2 -
1. To use LPS Sketch,
2.Use an unopened/unused stamp - I used the photo love by Ali Edwards. I had bought this a while ago and had not inked it yet.
3. To Use a technique that scares you - Creating ink spots on the LO and as you can see mine was not as successful, but I am happy for my first try anyways.
4. Use two or more accent pieces that you are hoarding - this was the hardest to do. I used two Coffee Related badges that I have been hoarding forever and also the stitched hearts from AC Dear Lizzy Collection.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - Ali Edwards Photo Love
Ink - Memento Danube blue, Memento Black
Paper- Bazzill Cardstock, Studio Calico Patterned Paper

Cute Smile

I just love this photograph of my friend's daughter and have been wanting to create a layout with it for a while, but just has not happened. But the pagemaps sketch this time was perfect for this picture.

I am also entering this layout for the Lawnscaping Challenge Texture.

I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set called Blissful botanicals (I just love this stamp set) for this layout. I used the long vine image and stamped it repeatedly to create my center pattern paper. I also used the flowers to create some accents on the page and of course the sentiment Smile which was so appopriate.

I created texture on this page by using felt butterflies, the pearl embellishment and also the ribbon on the tag.

Here is the pagemaps sketch,

Got Sketch Class - Sketch #1

It is fun to be participating in Valerie's Got Sketch class again. I just love her sketches. I used the pictures of my friend's daughter and her grandma for the first sketch. Some how these photos were just perfect for this layout. I used the Studio Calico City Lights Kit for this layout. Except the chipboard circle and title, everything else is from the kit.

I loved how this layout turned out. My chevron border is not the best for two reasons, I should have used some contrasting papers and second my angle got messed up. Oh well, another reason to try it again.

Stamp - None
Paper - Studio Calico City of Lights Scrapbook Kit

I love Embellish challenges, but I am always late in getting them done. This time I was on a roll and I got it done on time - Stars Color Trends Challenge.

As soon as I saw the word stars - I thought of these pictures of my friend's son enjoying some kitchen time with his Mom - helping her cut vegetables and the title I thought of was "Star Chef"....So here is my layout.

The base card stock and the large patterned paper and the stickers are from Studio Calico Scrapbook kit - City of lights. The maroon, navy blue and green circles are from stash. I just love these pictures and how concentrated he is with this task.

Here is the challenge pad from Embellish blog,

Got Sketch Class - Week 2

I love Valerie's sketches. So, a quick share of my layout for the 2nd Week's sketch.

Loved this sketch and will for sure reuse it again. In retrospect, I would have put the peacock's picture down, so that the flags would have had an nice place as in the current placement the flags are kind of covering up the photo.

These are pictures from our Hawaii Trip in 2000 for our First Wedding Anniversary. Considering it was my anniversary on March 7th, it was fun doing this layout and to travel down the memory lane.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:

Ink - Memento Black
Paper - PTI, Stampin Up, Making Memories, Luxe Designs Patterned Paper (all from my stash), Coredinations card stock

Layout with some older pictures

Today is the first day of GS107 class that I am taking. You can see the details of the class here if you are interesting in joining as well. I love Valerie's sketches.

There are some challenges going on over Bella Blvd Blog as well and one of them was to use cute cuts. I do not own any Bella Blvd products and hence no cute cuts, but I found some really nice chipboard die cuts in my vacation stash and so I am hoping these will work instead of the cute cuts. So, I am entering this LO for the Bella Blvd challenge as well.

These are pictures from our Hawaii Trip (Oahu actually) in the year 2000. Our first anniversary vacation. I had to get the negatives scanned to get the digi prints, so the quality is not that great, but I love the memories associated with these pictures and so I had to create LO's with them.

I am also getting more bolder and experimental with my PSE10. I did not have much space on the tag to write with my own handwriting. So, I created a blank document in PSE 10, wrote the journaling and then printed it directly on the tag. YAY!!! Was so happy with the final result.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - None
