Copic Challenges with MFT Digital Image

I have been creating more and more cards with Digital images now a days. This image is from MFT - My Favorite Things. I printed it on PTI White CS and colored it with Copics. This was for two challenges,

1) Copics Color Challenge #43 - To use colors YG63 (Pea Green), R59(Cardinal), BV23(Grayish Lavender). I did not have BV23 and instead used a few other to get a color close to it.

2) Copic Creations Challenge #17 - Coloring Snow/Snow people.
I got my inspiration and tutorial from Theresa Momber's card and her blog.

Here is my card,

It was so much fun coloring this image. I could do better on the snowman..Have to practice more :)

Supplies:
Stamp - MFT Digi Stamp - Baby it’s Cold Outside
Paper - PTI White CS, SU White CS and Basic Grey Blitzen collection DP
Ink - Copics
Other - Martha Steward Snow flake punch, Gem, Ek Success Snow flake border punch, nestabilities

Triple Challenge Card

I wanted to share the card that I did for three challenges today. I used this digital freebie image from Inger Harding. I love her images.

Here is my card,

The three challenges were,

1) Copic Creations Challenge - Coloring Black with Copics. I used C5, C7 and T6 for coloring the hair black in this image. As per the tutorial you can see on Copic Creations site, the colors that Suzanne Dean uses are C5, C7 and C9. I did not have C9, so I had to substitute.

2) Copic Color Challenge - Challenge #36 was to use the Colors V17(Amethyst), YR68(Orange), G99(Olive).

3) Just Us Girls Challenge - To add a 3D flower to your project. They have a fantastic tutorial also. But I did not have the Blossoms nestabilities. So, instead I used the five petal flower punch from Paper Wishes and created my own 3d flower. Basically I punched out three flowers, edged with ink, then folded two of them and then curled the third one using a tooth pick and then put them all together with a jewelled brad.

Supplies:
Stamp - Digital Freebie Image from Inger Harding, PTI Simple Things Anniversary Set
Paper - 120 LB Pure Luxury CS from Gina K, SU DP, SU Orange CS, PTI Rustic Cream CS, Bazzill Yellow CS
Ink - Memento Black, Copics, PTI Avocado Ink, Brown chalk ink
Other - Jewelled Brad, Paper Wishes 5 Petal Flower Punch, SU Word Window Punch

Triple Treat Saturday

It was fun to create a card combining three challenges. Hence the name of my title. I used a snoopy christmas stamp from Stampabilities that I colored with copics. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Lots of thoughts set that I punched out using SU Tag Punch. The heart was also colored with Copics and Punched out with EK Success Small Heart punch. Some Basic Grey PP from Blitzen collection completed my card.

Here is my card,

1) I used Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #78 for my layout. Here is the sketch,

2) Second was the OCC challenge of Christmas cards in August. I need to start building up my holiday cards stash anyways. So this was really good.

3) Third was the Copic Creations Challenge #10 - which is Red, Pink and Hearts.

I colored Snoopy using R24, R27 and R29. I used a bit of R89 to add some highlights on his shirt. The same three colors (R24, R27 and R29) were used for the heart as well.

Supplies:
Stamp - Stampabilities Snoopy Stamp, SU Lots of thoughts
Paper - GKD Pure Luxury 120 Lb CS, PTI Vintage Cream CS, Basic Grey Blitzen Collection DP

Mojo Monday 98 combined with other challenges

It is not Monday - but here is my Mojo Monday card :) I guess it had to be a Friday for me to get the mojo :)

I have combined a few challenges into this card,

1) Sketch is from Mojo Monday 98 Sketch
2) Second is the copic challenge of coloring eyes. I did not have any images that had was good for eye coloring and this stamp from Gina K designs caught my eye. I researched on the internet that Horned Owl which is quite common in North America has yellow eyes. So I tried to get that effect using my Copics. I used - Y11, Y15 and W5 for the eyes. A blend of grey and brown for the skin.
3)Flourishes Timeless Tuesday (FTTC27) - The challenge was to use hardware - any kind. I have used a metal ribbon slider and grey brads on this page :)

Here is my card,

In retrospect, If I had made this card in Purple/Lavender shades, I could have completed the OCC color challenge as well. :) Oh well!! Next time :)

Supplies:
Stamp - Gina K Designs - Owl Always Love You
Paper - Making Memories DP, PTI Kraft CS, GKD Pure Luxury White 120lb
Ink - Memento Black, Memento Blue for edging, Copics

Copic Creations Challenge No. 8 ~ Botanicals

Challenge this time from copic creations is coloring botanicals. I chose this particular flower from GKD A Year of Flowers set. I colored the flower with YR04, YR09 and YR68. For the center of the flower I used Y15. Leaves were colored with YG06, YG09 and YG13. I did not have the incremental colors so had to make up my own. But
it was so much fun.

Copic Creations Challenge # 7 - Brunette Hair

The Copic Challenge this time is to color brunette hair. I had never done this before so this was an inviting challenge to work on as it is more learning for me.
Here is the link to the Copics Challenge.

It helped me a lot to watch videos from Suzanne on hair coloring. I am sure I have more to learn....but I am quite happy with the results for a first timer. Here is a link to Suzanne's blog. You can see lot of reference material and videos on her right nav.

For the image itself, I used the Digital stamp of Swinging Gretchen from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. You can see their website here. I wanted to use the larger image to see more of my coloring, hence went with a 5x7 card size.

Here is my card,

Here are the set of colors I used for the Hair..I did not have some of the browns that Suzanne had used..so I improvised.

Here are the colors I used for Skin and Dress. I highlighted the sash and band on the dress with Copic Spica pen and also colored the shoe with Copic Spica pen.

Supplies:
Stamp - Digital Stamp - Swinging Time with Gretchen - by Sweet and sassy stamps
Paper - GKD Pure Luxury White CS, PTI Raspberry Fizz CS, PTI True Black CS

Copic Challenge 6 and TECC sketch 73

I was very excited to find the Copic blog where they are posting copic related challenges. I have fallen in love with Copics and it is so much fun to participate in these challenges. You can see the link for Copic challenges on my right nav bar.

Copic Challenge #6 was Copic marker coloring techniques for Wood. I searched my stamp sets and found two stamp sets which I could use with this challenge. Boards and Beams by PTI which has the house and I can kind of treat it like a wood cabin... and also Time For you by PTI which has the wooden bench. So I decided to do two cards :)

This first card is using PTI's Board and Beam stamp set. I colored the main slats of the house using browns and tried to get in the weathered look, it has not come out that great, but for my first try..I kind of liked it.

Here are the copics I used for this card,

I used the W5 for the shingles and then used the colorless blender to kind of lighten it. I used the w3 for the door and Y11 for the windows -- in retrospect it feels too bright, I might have used some other color. The browns were used on the slats and Y28 was used for the posts and window slats.

For the second card, I used the TECC 73 sketch and colored the wooden bench....

Here are the Copics I used for this card,

Here is the TECC 73 sketch,

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Board and Beams, SU Time For You
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Paper - AC Dark Brown CS, GKD Pure Luxury White, PTI Kraft CS, SU Tangergine Tango, My Minds Eye Polka Dot DP, PTI Bitty Boxes DP
Other - Nestabilities Tags Trio, Marvy Scalloped Square Punches, EK Success Border Punch
