Showcasing Rubber Cafe Stamps

At the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, TX - I bought a few Rubber Cafe Stamps that I just fell in love with. I did a make and take card at their booth and have been wanting to share these cards with you all for a while now...but sometimes I get so caught up in either some sketch challenge or some thing else that I have not had a chance to show some of my other cards - not that I am complaining...challenges and sketches keep me thinking out of the box and trying things out of my comfort zone.

This first card is the one I did at Make and Take. It is a gate fold card and they are sooooo easy to make with scorpal. That is another thing that I learnt at the make and take. The butterfly is colored with copics and coated with Shimmerz. You can see how nice it looks in the closeup.

Here is a view of the Gatefold,

Here is the close up of the butterfly,

I also wanted to share this other Birthday card that I did using the same rubber stamps and the word celebrate from the PTI Out of the Box Stamp set,

I again colored the butterflies with copics and cut them out and popped them up with some foam dots. The background paper was a gift from my friend Rimi and not sure which company it is from.

Here is the last card, a bouquet of daisies. Kept this card very simple.

Supplies:
Stamp - Rubber Cafe - Butterfly, Grass and Bouquet of Daisies, PTI Out of the box sentiments
Paper - Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Red, PTI New Leaf CS, PTI White CS
Ink - Memento Black, Ranger Walnut Ink, Copics
Other - Nestabilities, Dew Drops, Ribbon, Shimmerz

I had not initially ordered the PTI Polka Dot Basics II, but after seeing the most amazing samples of it on Dawn's blog, I had to get it and I am not dissapointed. It is just awesome. Loved it :)

PTI August Blog Hop

It is time again for PTI Blog Hop. This month's blog hop challenge is to get inspired by Autumn..the textures, colors and Patterns.

For me Autumn is always about colorful foliage and pumpkins. I did not have any PTI Pumpkin stamp, so decided to with the colorful foliage. I used the tree trunk for PTI's Father Knows best stamp set and created my own tree. I used the maple leaf from the PTI mailbox greetings to create the tree. I was kind of very happy with this tree and my first attempt at shaded inking. I inked the stamp first in Summer Sunrise and then in Pure Poppy and then stamped it.

I also used the mailbox and colored it in fall colors using Copics. :) A simple sentiment and ribbon completed the card.

Here is my card,

Stamp - PTI Mailbox Greetings, PTI Father Knows Best
Paper - PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI White CS, PTI Vintage Cream CS
Ink - PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Pure Poppy, Burnt Umber, Memento Black, Copics

Twilight Inspired Challenge

Carolyn King - who is on Gina K designs senior design team has posted a Twilight Inspired Card Challenge on her blog...Which was inspired by her daughter. Being a big fan of Twilight, I had to play this challenge. It was just to create a Twilight Inspired Card. Here is a link to Carolyn's blog.

I used the Edward stamp from The Greeting Farm. Colored him with Copics and added a sentiment that I generated from the computer. I used the Zephyr Font that is available online which is what the twilight book uses...:) I did not use any glitter or bling on it and instead chose to use some bright black and white paisley DP and some Red Polka Dot DP and some ribbon accent. I kind of like how it turned out.

Here is my card,

Supplies:
Stamp - Edward from The Greeting Farm
Paper - Unknown Paisely DP, My Minds Eye Red Polka Dot DP, GKD Pure Luxury White CS, PTI Scarlett Jewel CS

The Copic colour challenge this time was to use YR04, C3 and E57.
I was so happy as I had all the three colors. Then came the conundrum of which sketch to go with. Mojo Monday is having a sketch each day of the week to celebrate their 100th sketch. Here is a close up of the colored image. I used the pumpkin and basket images from the PTI Vintage Picnic Set. I used YR04 for the pumpkin and used YR09 to give some dark highlights. E57 with E59 for some highlights for the basket. G07 for the leaves.

Triple Treat Saturday

It was fun to create a card combining three challenges. Hence the name of my title. I used a snoopy christmas stamp from Stampabilities that I colored with copics. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Lots of thoughts set that I punched out using SU Tag Punch. The heart was also colored with Copics and Punched out with EK Success Small Heart punch. Some Basic Grey PP from Blitzen collection completed my card.

Here is my card,

1) I used Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #78 for my layout. Here is the sketch,

2) Second was the OCC challenge of Christmas cards in August. I need to start building up my holiday cards stash anyways. So this was really good.

3) Third was the Copic Creations Challenge #10 - which is Red, Pink and Hearts.

I colored Snoopy using R24, R27 and R29. I used a bit of R89 to add some highlights on his shirt. The same three colors (R24, R27 and R29) were used for the heart as well.

Here is the card,

I used R39 instead of R59 and used my colorless blender to make it slightly lighter in color so that it resembled cardinal color more. Instead of BG09 I used a combination of BG10, B05 and B21. I used YG97 - Spanish Olive instead of G99.

Here is the color challenge,

Stitched Ribbon Card

I am always a little bit hesitant to try new stuff, comfortable with what I can do..But my SCS friend Chrissy has been creating the most beautiful cards with pleated stitched ribbon. I bugged her so much about that she created a tutorial for us to create the beautiful pleated ribbon effect. You can see her tutorial on how to do that here.

I am such a visual person and this tutorial helped a lot and I ventured into learning a new technique and as I had told Chrissy, my first try will not be the best, but I will keep trying.

Here is my first attempt at it. I used the Vintage Picnic Set for this and colored the tulips in Lavender shades to match with the Bitty Boxes DP in Plum Pudding. The ribbon is saddle stitched Hibiscus burst.

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Vintage Picnic
Paper - PTI Kraft, White CS, PTI Bitty Boxes DP
Ink - Memento Black, Copics

Sketch #32 Combined with Scrap and Stamp Challenge

The challenge at Scrap and stamp this time was to use embossing along with stamping. I used the Sketch #32 from 52 Sketches 52 weeks for this layout.

These are the pictures from my parents trip to Pier 39 in SFO. It was a little chilly, but we had lots of fun. We went on the ferry trip, ate cookies and ice cream.

I punched out circles and embossed them with CB embossing folders - Swiss Dots, Swirls and another dots one (I cannot remember the name of it) and then attached them with foam dots to the page. I used the remember stamp set from Heidi Swapp to add additional dimension to the page.

My Fabulous Friends

The definition of Friend in the dictionary says - A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. But Friends are more than that - they are our integral part of our lives, being there when needed without judgment without questions. A Friend is one with whom you can be yourself.

I guess I was becoming a bit emotional. This is my first post of August. Cannot believe it is August already. Time is flowing very quickly. I had knee surgery done last Thursday and had not scrapped or stamped for a while. So, it was nice to be crafting again. And this friendship themed page from Scrap and Stamp was the thing that needed to cheer me up. My friends have been so helpful through all this. So, I ended up doing two pages for this challenge. I would have done another page for my SCS Friends, but since did not have a photos, might have to do something else for them :)

Here is my first page - this is of my very close friends :) BALM Group - Banu, Anjali, Leena and Maneesha. These are the photos from Maneesha's birthday a few years ago. :) Thanks girl for putting up with me and being there for me.

I used sketch #20 from 52 sketches 52 weeks for this page. Here is that sketch,

Here is my 2nd page - This if of my scrapbooking friends who help me through so many things and share the same interests and nature. Thanks for being there and listening to my griping and all :)
