Bless This Nest

I wanted to share a quick card that I did today morning for the Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge - this week it was a sketch :) I kept it very simple and this is the first time I have not used ribbon or some other form of embellishment on my card :)
I used this stamp called Everyday Miracles. Loved this set. I colored the image with Copics and added the sentiment. In retrospect, I could have added some pearls or something near the sentiment :)
But I liked how the the main image looks.

Here is the sketch,

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my friends. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment.

New year -  New Beginnings. I wanted to share a few things that are part of  my crafting resolution,

1. Start a paper recycling container in the craft room and toss all the small scraps in the said container. No point in hoarding scraps that I never end up using.
2. Strive for quality than quantity.
3. Use up some of the card kits that I got from card kit and SS swaps
4. Use all of my stamps - at least once
5. Use up existing crafting supplies, before ordering the same.
6. Work on a heritage album for my Grand father
7. Get a head start on hand made Christmas gifts for my friends - to avoid scrambling at last minute
8. Try and Clean up the craft table each night, so as to get a clean start next day.
9. Just because it is in dollar bin or clearance bin, I DO NOT need that crafting item
10. Keep up with my Project Life 2011 album.

Thanks for stopping by and hoping that your new year is off to a good start.

Cheers
Banu

Pink and Black Thinking Of You

I  made this pink and black - Thinking of you card for my friend in India. I used the Sketch #4 of Verve December VLV Sketches. This sketch is designed by Teresa - she has some awesome Verve creations on her blog.

The theme this time was Christmas Ornaments and Decor. I used this Pink and Black Ornament from Etsy as my inspiration.

I used the Verve Kind Words stamp set for this card. I have stamped the flower from this set in Ranger DI - Spun Sugar. It has that dreamy pink look. I stamped the sentiment over it using Memento Black Ink. The papers are all from my stash - they are a mix of KI memories and PTI.

Also for the very first time I also tried Dawn McVey's Ribbon tying tutorial and I have to say, I am very happy with how my bow turned out. Some MS Punched out Butterflies completed my card.

Here is the sketch,

Seize The Cupcake

I am back with my second card for the VERVE December Viva La Verve Challenges. This is my entry for the Sketch#2 by the talented Sankari Wegman. The theme this time was to take Inspiration from Christmas Ornaments and Home Decor. I was browsing Etsy for some Christmas Ornaments and found this awesome Purple Cupcake Ornament. So, I used the theme and color from this Ornament for my card.

The Seize the Cupcake set from VERVE Was perfect for this card. I cut out the sentiment using Nestabilities Petite Oval and then hand cut the cupcake and popped it up with a few foam dots. I have added some glitter on the cupcake as well.

Here is the Sketch,

Yellow Butterfly

I have not dropped off the face of the earth!!!! Just was on vacation and after I came back from vacation, my mojo took one :) We have finally reunited and I have a card to share with you all.

I did this card for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #60. It was to do a black and white card with a splash of Yellow. :)

The paper looks slight more Orange in color in my photo, but it is a beautiful shade of yellow - slightly darker than a lemony yellow.

I used the Verve Stamp sets - Happy Hello and Fluttering By and used the Viva La Verve December Sketch #3 for this card.

December Inspiration for Viva La Verve Sketches were Ornaments. I found this awesome Stained Glass Yellow Butterfly ornament in Etsy which was my inspiration for this card and it also happened to fit the PDCC Color Splash challenge.
