Christmas in July

Say it with Christmas is the theme of Annabelle's stamps challenge. Their challenge do not require for us to use their stamps, but I wanted to. But I only have one of their stamp sets - Love Birds. I picked a few images from that set and combined it with a Holiday sentiment from PTI's Mailbox greetings and I love how this card turned out.

I used the bird house and bird from the Annabelle Love Birds stamp set and I also used the tiny branch from that stamp set next to the sentiments and I think they are just way too cute. I know this is probably bit away from main stream holiday cards, but I am doing more of these kind of holiday cards lately. I also like when I use a Non Holiday stamp set for a holiday cards.

Thanks for stopping by,

Got Buttons?

Reveals have started over at PTI...OMG!! So much cool stuff...More details on Nichole's blog. The challenge for today was to create a project/card that utilizes buttons in a creative way. I could not think of out of the box for this one, kept it simple.

I used the PTI Eyelet Lace border die and cut it out with some Simple Chartreuse CS. Then I added some buttons in the eyelet holes :) The button on the flower was kind of unique shaped almost like a brad.
I created the sentiment panel for Thinking of you inspired by the Make it Monday Challenge.

PTI August Blog Hop

It is time again for PTI Blog Hop. This month's blog hop challenge is to get inspired by Autumn..the textures, colors and Patterns.

For me Autumn is always about colorful foliage and pumpkins. I did not have any PTI Pumpkin stamp, so decided to with the colorful foliage. I used the tree trunk for PTI's Father Knows best stamp set and created my own tree. I used the maple leaf from the PTI mailbox greetings to create the tree. I was kind of very happy with this tree and my first attempt at shaded inking. I inked the stamp first in Summer Sunrise and then in Pure Poppy and then stamped it.

I also used the mailbox and colored it in fall colors using Copics. :) A simple sentiment and ribbon completed the card.

Here is my card,

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Mailbox Greetings, PTI Father Knows Best
Paper - PTI Dark Chocolate, PTI White CS, PTI Vintage Cream CS
Ink - PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Pure Poppy, Burnt Umber, Memento Black, Copics
Other - Nestabilities, PTI Summer Sunrise Ribbon, Generic Black Pin, SU Slit Punch

Mojo Monday Week 74

Yay!! I have the Mojo Monday 74 sketch card ready this time by Wednesday. I always end up waiting till weekend to work on my cards and pages.

This sketch was really nice to work with and I used my favourite PTI Set - Mailbox greetings to get this sketch going. I wanted to make something sunny and spring even though spring is not here yet officially. Something to cheer us up. So, I used yellow copics on the mailboxes. It was really fun doing this card.

As I was getting ready to post this I realized that I did not have the details on what copics I used, anyways another lesson learnt and will try to have those details next time. I mean what is the use of having a blog if I cannot provide all the details and maybe some step by step information too. :)

Also I wanted to get the effect of having some mail in the mailbox so I stamped the small letter image from the set in Summer Sunrise in the mailboxes, but it hardly shows up. In the last mailbox it looks like I scratched the mailbox instead of having a letter in it. :) But I liked this idea and will try it with a different ink next time.

Here is the Mojo Monday 74 Sketch,

Supplies:
Stamp Set - PTI Mailbox Greetings
Ink - PTI Summer Sunrise, PTI Burnt Umber, PTI Landscape
Paper - PTI White, Summer Sunrise, PTI Dark Chocolate, Generic PP
Other - Stickles, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, Copics, PTI Summer Sunrise Ribbon.
