October 2012 PTI Blog Hop

The Challenge this time for PTI Blog hop is to create Holiday project with non traditional holiday colors. I am on a roll with my Christmas cards so this was perfect and it is always fun to experiment with Non Traditional colors. So be warned of this photo heavy post as I created three cards for today's blog hop.

1) First up is this Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz Combination,
I stamped the wreath image from PTI Wreath for all seasons in Raspberry Fizz and added the berries in Blue (I do not have PTI Hawaiian shores ink - so used a memento ink here). The sentiment from Signature Christmas was also stamped in blue. Here is the combo from Nichole Heady's Blog,

2) Second is the card I did with Pine Feather, Ocean Tides and Pure Poppy. I just loved how this card turned out,
I used Rustic Snowflakes and Dearest Jane Patterned Papers along with Ocean Tides, pine Feather, Vintage Cream card stock. Sentiment is from PTI Fillable Frames #8. I added a few snow flakes brads as well. Here is the combo from Nichole Heady's blog,

3) Last but not the least, I used Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet and Harvest gold combination. I also used Retro Sketches #34 for this card.
I used the PTI 2008 Holiday tags stamp set for this card and this was a truly unusual color combination for me to use for a holiday card. It was nice to work out of my comfort zone. I also used the doily details dies from PTI.
Here are the retro sketch and combo from Nichole Heady's blog,

PTI July 2012 Blog Hop

25th of the month - it is time for PTI Blog Hop. I really liked the photo inspiration this time as well as the color combination. So, I had to play along. I created this card using all the colors mentioned in the inspiration photo and used Rosie Posie stamp set.

I stamped the roses in Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise inks, die cut them and popped them up with some foam dots. I used the Melon berry patterned paper along with some Harvest gold border to add some more interest to the card. I then added them to a white panel and mounted it on a Berry Sorbet Card base.

I had not used PTI's berry sorbet card stock in a while and was happy to use it. It is such a soft color and it was such a pleasure to see this card come together. The sentiment and leaves were stamped in Simply Chartreuse Ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Simple Little Things Anniversary Set

Here is the inspiration photo. You can head over to Nichole Heady's Blog and you can see the full list of participants.

PTI March 2012 Blog Hop

Hello Friends, Happy Sunday. It has been a while since I participated in PTI Blog Hop. I just happen to love the colors in the inspiration photo this time and I was trying to figure out a card design for the Cas-ual Friday Challenge #45 - CAS Card using Pastels and Black and the PTI Inspiration image was perfect starting point.

I used PTI Background Basics: Chevron stripes and stamped it using Memento Summer Sky and Dandelion Inks. I do not have any PTI pastel inks yet. Then I stamped the sentiment from PTI 2012 Anniversary set Pretty Peonies in PTI Snow white Ink. The peony was again stamped in Memento Summer Sky ink. The card came together quite easily and will for sure try this with other color combinations. I tried embossing the sentiment in white, but somehow I always have trouble doing this. So, I left it with this white ink as is.

I was influenced by the color and chevron stripes in the PTI Inspiration image.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Background Basics: Chevron Stripes, PTI Pretty Peonies
Ink - Memento Summer Sky, Memento Dandelion and Memento Bamboo Leaves
Paper - PTI White and True Black Cardstock

PTI June 2011 Blog Hop

The blog hope theme this time is an inspirational photo (shown below). As soon as I saw this photo, it reminded me of the card that Nichole Heady had done for the June stamp release using copics and I had to give it a try (Loved that technique). Plus the three open boxes reminded me of the take three die :) You can see the entire list of participants on Nichole's Blog.

So, here is my take on this inspirational photo, I think the wall hangers are more like dragon flies, but I thought the butterflies worked well too.

I wanted my card to look like I took a bucket of paint and then poured it on the card stock from top. My copic lines are not that clean or that well blended (I was using the chisel tip), but I still like the overall effect of the card and will for sure give this another try. Maybe stamp it with a background stamp and then use that piece of card stock or something like that.

Thanks for stopping by.
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Handwritten Notes
Paper - PTI White, True Black, Vintage Cream CS
Ink - Memento Black, Copics
Other - PTI Take Three Die

Scattered Showers - Thinking Of You

The Challenge this time is,

"This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold"

I used one of my favorite older sets called "Scattered Showers" for this card. I had not used this stamp set in a while although it used to be one of my to go sets :) So, in honor of this blog hop, this set got inked up :)

I stamped the umbrella in Ranger DI - Spiced Marmalade, cut it out and popped it up with some foam dots. I cut out the flower using PTI Dies and added some button to it. I love the font in this stamp set.

The card is much better IRL, I forgot to take pictures of the 3D Effect. The white panel is raised as well as the umbrella :). I have inked the edges of the White panel as well as the Green Bitty Box Basics Patterned paper using PTI Chai Inking Cube, but for some reason does not show up well in the picture. I made this card for the Regular card spot in the PTI Card swap that we are having over at SCS. If you are interested in joining the next round of PTI Swap - Jennifer is hosting it - here is the link.

Please stop by at Nichole's blog to see the complete list of participants and to get inspired to use some of your older sets.

PTI Blog Hop - Diwali Wishes

If you are looking for the Monday {ippity} Hop Post, please scroll down or Click here.

CHALLENGE: There is always a lot of focus on Christmas in our industry this time of year, as that is what the majority of the population celebrates.  However, this month's blog hop is dedicated to those that celebrate winter holidays other than Christmas.  Create a project that celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or some other winter holiday as we embrace everyone's beliefs in a celebration of diversity through paper crafting.

This challenge was perfect for me to create some Diwali or Deepavali Cards for my friends. Diwali is the Indian Holiday that falls around Winter time. It is called Festival of Lights. Although I did not really use Lights on my cards, but went with more Indian Theme.

For my first card, I used Guide Lines II set along with the Guidelines Paper and created this beautiful background with Orange and Green colors. I then printed the sentiment from Computer, cut it out with Nestabilities and added a simple bow and pin. This motif background has a Indian feel for me. I am in love with these Hat Pins. I bought some pearls from Hobby Lobby the other day and did this pin :)

For my second card, I used the Round and Round Anniversary set, stamped it in Orange and layered it on some Dark Chocolate cut with the PTI Mat Stack die. I love this die and it goes so well with this set. Paper is from the DCVW Taj Mahal collection - beautiful Indian themed paper. I added the sentiment that I printed from computer.

For the last card, though not my best and did not truly turn out how I was anticipating it - I used the flowers from About you set and the sentiment again was something that I printed. Again one of my pins... In love with these :)

There was this one image in the PTI 2008 holiday tag set, a star surrounded by this elegant scroll work, I thought would fit the theme of Diwali as well, as we hang these star shaped lights around the home, but then I was not getting good design ideas..maybe next time.

Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI About You, Guidelines II, Round and Round Sets
Paper- PTI White, Rustic White, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, Guidelines CS, Crate Paper and DCVW Patterned Paper

PTI July Blog Hop

It is time for PTI blog hop. I love it when it happens on a weekend, because then I have time to get inspired by all the amazing creations. This time the challenge was focusing on Office Supplies - to use them creatively on your paper projects.

I was still in "Christmas in July" mode. So, I created a Christmas card for today's hop. I used the Bingo Image from the It's Official set and used a Post-It Arrow flag to point towards the 25th. I used some paper clips to accent the page. Sentiment from Mixed Messages set completed the card.

I cut out some PTI White paper using PTI Spiral Notebook Page die and then stamped the Bingo Image on it. They fit together very well. And then following Nichole Heady's example, I stamped the circle over the Number 25 using a button. I am quite happy how this card turned out and will probably make a few more. Thanks for stopping by.

You can visit Nichole Heady's blog to see all the other hoppers and their amazing creations.
