ICRC29 - Elements and a "Theme" Twist

Hello Friends, Happy May and hoping to see lots of May Flowers :))

May means new Challenge over at ICR.  Here is the Challenge for the month of May ICRC29 – Card with Elements and a “Theme” Twist.

You'll be using ELEMENTS on your cards that you'll find on our DT Blogs.  That's right...you'll have to visit each of the five DT blogs listed below for the elements.  You only need to put three of the elements onto your card, but you can use more than three if you'd like.

Finally, you must visit the ICR Blog for the TWIST!!!

My Element is FLOWERS :)) (Yup..Gotta have some flowers for May).

Here is my card,

It was fun working on this CAS Card. The sentiment is from Verve stamp set. I love to create Monochromatic card - cream and white in this case with some Pop of Red and Pink Colors.

So you have some visiting to do!  Have fun, and I look forward to seeing your projects on ICR! Be sure to list the three elements that you've used, when posting your cards. If you have any questions, please reach out to any of the DT members!

ICR Holi Blog Hop

Welcome to Pichkari Holi Blog Hop by ICR Team. You can start at ICR Forum and get all the deets on the Blog Hop.

Here is some info about Holi On Wikipedia. Holi is also called the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the season of hope and joy. The gloom of the winter goes as Holi promises of bright summer days. Nature too, it seems rejoices at the arrival of Holi and wears its best clothes. Fields get filled with crops promising a good harvest to the farmers and flowers bloom colouring the surroundings and filling fragrance in the air.

I always have associated Holi with bright colors and awesome get together with Family and Friends (and of course yummy food and sweets).

So to document the awesome Holi Party that we had at our friend's place just this last weekend, I created this scrapbook Layout using the March Sketch from ICR. Fun Sketch isn't it? There is plenty of time left to play along if you are interested.

I drew inspiration from our clothing colors and used some Blues and pinks on the layout and of course I had to use the bright Alphabet Stickers to celebrate Holi.

And I for sure wanted to create a card as well and again I did a card for this month's ICR Challenge #27 - One Layered card with Repeated Stamping.

Again, there is still time for you to play along, we would love to see your card creations. I did my own template in Word for this card and placed the text (using text box) and then printed it out and then stamped the PTI Mehendi Medallion Stamps over the card base. I would redo this card again and probably add some sequins or gem stones to add some more glitter.

I hope you enjoyed the projects and would love to hear from you and also see your creations in ICR.

If you are here from Sheetal's Blog then you are on the right path. If not, you can go to the ICR Forum and start from there.

Once you are done commenting on all the participating DT blogs, you can go back to ICR forum and add your name to the inLinkz tool to get the tokens. You can collect tokens for various ICR Activities through out the year and the one with most tokens will be eligible for a surprise prize package at the end of the year. Sounds like fun????

One person who completes all the challenges for the 2013 Scrapbook challenge series will win a box of scrapbook goodies. YAY.

Without further ado here is the Layout that I made for our very first challenge which is a Sketch Challenge. Please stop by at ICR forum to see the Sketch (to become a member if you are not already) and to play along.

These are our pictures from Seattle Trip - at Pikes Place market. The pattern paper on the left is from American Crafts Travel Collection (an older one). I used some Alphabet Thickers and stickers for the Title and of course Flair. A girl Gotta have her Flair :))

I used some scrap papers left over from an old travel kit for the banners on the right hand side. This sketch is perfect for using up all these small scraps of paper
.
I really liked how this Layout turned out and would love to do another one with maybe two horizontal 4x6 pictures. Possibilities are endless. Again, please stop by at ICR forum and check out the sketch and hope you will play along with us.

ICRC26: CANDY HOLDER + LOVE IS "UP IN THE AIR"!

Hi Friends, It is Feb 1st - means time for the Monthly ICR Challenge. This month we are celebrating the ICR 2nd Anniversary. So we have tons of acitvities, games, challenges and fun things planned for y'all. Would love for you to stop by and Celebrate with us.

Without further Ado - for the ICRC26 - Candy Holder with Love Up In the Air Theme - I created this Hershey's bar holder with a plane in clouds image and used the Sentiment "Love is Up In the Air". The Hershey's bar is held with a ribbon, so you can pull the bar out by pulling on the Ribbon. This is a very simple and easy Candy Holder to make.

Here is my Project,

Recipe:
1. Cut a Card Stock 7 x 5.5 inches (This is for the Big Hershey's bar that we get in USA). But you can adjust this to any Candy bar. Basically 7 inches is 1/2 inch more than the length of the candy bar and 5.5 inches is 1/2 inch more than the circumference of the candy bar.
2. Score the card stock on the 7 inch side at 2.5 and 5 inches. Fold the 1/2 inch, add some glue or sticky tape and close it. The bottom portion can also be closed the same way or crimped.
3) I made two slots on the open top portion using SU Slot Punch, but you can do the same with a regular hole punch as well.
4) Take about 15-16 inches long ribbon. Thread it through the two slots and then slide the chocolate bar inside the pocket while keep the ribbon at the bottom of the bar and then tie the top into a know. Now if you pull the ribbon, the bar will slide out with it.
5) Decorate the top of the pocket as you like.

There is a detailed tutorial on SplitCoastStampers as well.

I used some Crate Paper  Cardstock for my Candy Holder and I decorated the Top with PTI Flying By Stamp set (The best 5 dollar stamp set that I ever got). I colored the Airplane with Copics, I printed the sentiment from Computer (Used Lauren Script for the font) and added few PTI Cloud Die cuts (whose edges I inked with copics). Some hearts stamped on this completed the project.

This is fun to make as valentines for School Projects, Teachers and even friends. I hope you felt a bit inspired to go create your own and enter in the ICRC Challenge.

Thanks for Stopping by,
