Flowery Thank You Card

2nd post for the day. Please click here or scroll down to see the Mothers Day Card for OWH - Part 2.

This is flowery Thank You card that I did for 3 Challenges,

1) For Hero Arts March Challenge of Fabulous Flowers.

2) I was browsing through some blogs and found these Retro Sketches and loved their Sketch #2.

3) Color Combination from colourQ #128

I used the Hero Arts and Sizzix Combination stamp set - Bold Pop Designs and the sentiment is also a Hero Arts. It was a free set that I got with my order (CL175).

I used PTI Background Basics Retro and stamped the image on PTI Spring Moss paper and layered it on some PTI New Leaf CS. I did not have Wild Wasabi CS, but did have the ink pad - so I used that to stamp the background image as well as the flowers. I wanted some green pearls, so I colored the white ones with some copics. I kind of like how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by,

For a Friend

2nd Post of the day. Please scroll down or click here for the Bellarific Friday Post.

I wanted to share this Friend card that I did for,

1) Moxie Fab World Card Style challenge - Clean and Graphic.
2) Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #15.
3) Forever Friend challenge from A Passion for Papertrey.

BonnieRose was hosting the Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge with an inspiration photo and as soon as I saw it, it reminded me of this Background Basics - Retro stamp set from PTI and here is my card,

I stamped the circle border image from the PTI Background basics Retro set and then colored them with copics. I used the copic multi liner pen to add lines through the circles. Friend sentiment from PTI Friend's Till the End completed the card. I really loved how this turned out. We used to have a crystal beaded curtain at my Aunt's home that I used to love. This inspiration photo reminded me of that.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Background Basics: Retro, PTI Friends Till the End
Paper - PTI White and Raspberry Fizz CS
Ink - Memento Black, copics, PTI Inking Cube Chai
Other - None

WCMD Challenges from PTI

Nichole Heady at PTI had these four challenges for the World Card Making Day. It was like globe trotting with cards :) Lots of fun.

WCMD Challenge #1 - Japan

I did not have any Asian Themed PTI Stamp sets. So I used the combination of Boxes, Bags and Tags and Beyond Basic Borders. I created this card bases on my feel of Japan and its art and colors :)

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Boxes, Bags and Tags, PTI Beyond Basic Border
Paper - PTI Ocean Tides Bitty Boxes DP, PTI Rustic Cream CS, PTI Pure Poppy CS
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, PTI New Leaf
Other - SU Word Window Punch, White Gel Pen, Sakura Star Burst Pen

WCMD Challenge #2 - Mexico

I used the Guidelines 2 Stamp set to create a tiled background and used it with Lemon Tart Bitty boxes DP. Some how these colors always convey Mexico to me :)

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Guidelines 2, PTI Vintage Picnic
Paper - PTI Bitty boxes DP in Lemon Tart, Guidelines 2 CS, PTI Ripe Avocado CS
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, Ranger Distress Ink - Faded Jeans, PTI New Leaf
Other - PTI Vintage Buttons

WCMD Challenge #3 - India

I used the Guidelines stamp set to create the background and then added some bling to it. Kept it simple with juts the sentiment (which I printed from the computer). I added a few pure poppy buttons too. I used a combination of Orange and red Inks as lot of Indian Saree's have this color combination over pale blue background :)

It might be hard to see the bling on this card as the photograph might not be capturing it well. But it looks beautiful IRL.

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Guidelines
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Orange Zest, Versamark
Paper - PTI Aquamist and Pure Poppy card stock
Other - PTI Vintage Buttons, Gem stones

Challenge #4 - Australia

I was influenced by the reds and browns in the Australian art and plus I used the challenge of dotting the stamped images with White Gel Pen. :)

Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Background Basics Retro, PTI Flower Garden
Paper - PTI Kraft, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate CS, PTI White CS
Ink - PTI Dark Chocolate
Other - Nestabilities, Ribbon, White Gel Pen

PTI 2009 Swap - Round 3

PTI Swap round 3 for this year includes backgrounds and full cards. I had signed up for two spots in backgrounds and one spot in cards.

Here is my card for the swap. Inspired by the background swap, I used the Basic Backgrounds Retro to create a background for my swap card and used the bird houses from Bird wathing set. I colored the bird houses with copics and cut them out with Nestabilities Label 1 dies. Kept the card simple. I used the Vintage Cream CS from PTI and I just love how the colored image looks on this CS.
